@germanarchitect. “I like having you around. and not because of what you can do for me or give to me— i like you. i value you as a person.”
... yeah, surer, admittedly, david had been under the impression that felix believed he was better than him. it seemed like he mirrored david’s life in a lot of ways, came from a rich, successful family - found few friends in most of his up bringing and managed to do somethin’ great with the resources he had, unlike david. didn’t change much, though, they both still ended up here.
but he was still trying to become a better person, not to be a complete ass when he was in the fog, because he wasn’t so fond of the idea of being ripped apart by the murderers in the fog time after time again. which was a better thing than he could’ve imagined, because apparently felix didn’t look at him and think he was some fuckin’ knob head.
felix says something that david hasn’t heard very often in his life, that he liked having him around, that he was valued beyond what it was that he could do for felix. the latter wasn’t something he thinks he’s heard before, and it takes him a moment to process.. another moment to respond.
❛ ... yeah, ya pretty alright, ritcher. ❜ it was awkward, and he wanted the subject to change -- just because he didn’t know what the fuck to say to that.
