'Dancing House' was the first building by any internationally famous architect in post-communist Prague. Frank Gehry joined forces with local architect Vlado Milunić to fill in a corner site, which stood empty for decades after controversial US bombing of Prague in 1945. Gehry originally named the building after dancers Fred & Ginger, from Golden Age Hollywood films. Since nobody in Czech Republic ever heard of them, the building is simply called 'Tančící dům' (Dancing House). I made this illustration as a wedding gift for a friend who lives in that Art Nouveau building next to it.

Shadwell Basin Housing in Wapping, 1988. LDDC, which was redeveloping the area, prescribed the use of 'traditional' London stock bricks and slate roofs in all the designs. Thankfully, this housing stayed traditional only in material.
