Non stiamo parlando di due attori, ma di due fotografi e non due fotografi qualunque. Lui è Robert Capa, “il più grande fotografo di guerra di tutti i tempi”, mentre lei è Gerda Taro, la sua musa, discepola e amante. Il loro sorriso complice venne qui colto da un collega, Fred Stein, durante un caffè a Parigi nel 1935. Lui continua i suoi reportage ad alto rischio fino al 1954, in Indocina, quando salterà in aria su una mina. Due anni dopo questa foto, Gerda morirà nella più tragica delle maniere (sventrata da un carro armato) a soli 26 anni preoccupandosi delle sue macchine fotografiche mentre si tiene le viscere con la sola pressione delle mani e divenendo la prima donna fotoreporter a morire sul campo. Il suo corpo fu accompagnato da 200 000 persone a Parigi con tutti gli onori. Pablo Neruda e Luis Oragon lessero un elogio "in memoriam". La sua tomba è nella zona di Pere Lachaise dedicata ai rivoluzionari e alla Resistenza.
