Finally found the time to get a pedicure from my absolute favorite nail expert, Lena at @leonailbar, across the street from my @pelofts home in the #HistoricCore of #DTLA! Now, I can rightfully tag @vinylandfeet with my freshly-painted toes pointing at the 2017 reissue of the iconic #GeorgeBarnes album, #CountryJazz. #GeorgeBarnes was a #pioneer of the #electricguitar, a #brilliant and #influential #musician #arranger #composer #conductor #producer and perhaps the most easily #identifiable #guitarist in #musichistory. And he is my #father. This #painting was taken from a #photo of him, #smoking a #pipe stuffed with the end of his #BeringPlaza #cigar, and was used as the cover of a #posthumous #album for #ConcordJazz titled "Blues Going Up." Now, it hangs in my #DTLA #loft, where I am writing his #memoir, and producing rare offerings for #TheGeorgeBarnesLegacyCollection.
