PT: My Eliban Flag end PT.

Hey y'all! I'm back finally. And guess what? I had time to create my rendition of a flag for eliban/erosian!! As I said in my first post, this is a flag which is based on the 7-stripe flags for oshian and mwarian, which can be found here and here, respectively. Credit to both @hyenasbreath--archive and @mwarian for the inspiration!

Hey everyone! I'm a new account, but I've been lurking for a few months now on black LGBTQIA+ (GEOAY+) spaces. Here's my proposition: What if we have an additional term to describe Erosian? For those unaware, Erosian is a term for black mlm and nblm individuals to describe themselves. I believe it's pronounced like "erosion," but if I'm wrong someone please correct me on that! Here's some of the flags Erosian has!

Eliban!

This term is one I personally came up with. First, I saw that the term for black wlw/nblw, Oshian (pronounced like "ocean"), was inspired by the Yoruba goddess known as Oshun/Ọṣun. She is the goddess of water, fertility, femininity, and love among other things. Then, I looked at the pantheon to find other gods (hopefully one who was male/nonbinary and queer). I stumbled around the paywalled research journals and other novels I couldn't see/didn't have what I was looking for, until I found this one blog article (here, by James Padilioni Jr) which is a great read!! TLDR: This deity known as Elegua/Èṣù-Ẹlẹ́gbára is a member of the Yoruba orisha (which Oshun is part of), and they are quite Gay™ to say the least. Some things I like about my term are that it has the same number of syllables as Erosian (I think... and isn't too far away from it, letter-wise), and it shares the a-after-i phenomenon present in Oshian and Mwarian. Oh, and what's great about having a new term to describe Erosian is that those who also use "erosian" to denote a specific alter aren't overlooked!

I'll probably come up with an alternate flag to fit the 7-stripe theme that some of the other GEOAY+ orientations have going on at some point. Anyways, let me know what y'all think!

Mfw I've lowkey been struggling with other terms/flags to create, but a lightbulb recently flipped on in my brain... I can just make ones that are:

eliban X a gender identity

eliban X a gender quality (ex: fem-eliban for an eliban person who identifies as feminine)

eliban X aro/acespec (i could milk these lolololol)

bambi eliban (or maybe I'll call it gazelle eliban GAZELIBAN OMG HAHAHA ok wait gazelles are so nervous looking so this fits methinks)

eliban but exclusive attraction to men (lowkey if u are this lmk bc idk, like you haven't in any capacity been attracted (physically, emotionally, whatever) to someone who wasn't a man ever in ur whole life?, or is it that you were but things changed or smth, or that it's so rare that it's not worth counting bc I was def the most latter option for a bit considering I'm both ace and tend to by physically attracted primarily to men when that kicks in every blue moon, which is why I established eliban to be m-spec inclusive bc gender literally isn't real idc (ok it is but i tend to hate that fact sometimes) and AMAB/AFAB people aren't very different like the gap some intersex ppl land on is a finite and measurable distance that is like a hop skip and jump)

id as eliban+oshian/mwarian/any other geoay+ terms (just need to figure out if I'm comfortable making oshian-related flags since idk I'm only recently learning how to decenter men and I feel like I don't tend to be attracted to women enough (though religion as a kid kinda repulsed me from being into women, weird how I was purity-cultured despite being AMAB), and I only fully came out to myself as not a man like a year ago (though I was anonymous posting 2 years before that), and idk I feel like I'm psyoping/doing a stolen valor if i associate myself with sapphic identity at all ughhhh (I might need to unpack all this ;-; omg bro/sis/sib/thing this is why I've wanted a sexuality therapist for the longest)

A term coined for Black Diamoric Individuals!

I decided to make Mwarian after being inspired by Erosian and Oshian (Black Sapphic Love and Black Turian Love respectively). There wasn't a term that I could find that represented Black Diamoric Love, so this is where Mwarian comes in!

The flag itself has 7 stripes each with individual meanings:

-Black: Representing Multigendered and Nonbinary Individuals -Dark Brown: Representing Black Pride -Medium Brown: Representing Black Culture -Light Brown: Representing Black Love -White: Representing a Lack of Gender -Light Green: Representing Enbian/ NBLNB love -Dark Green: Representing NBLW and NBLM Love

Hello!! So "eliban" is an additional term I came up with for erosian. Erosian (pronounced "erosion") is a term to describe all black queer love for men (so black mlm/nblm/whatever gender as long as you like guys in a gay way). The wlw/nblw counterpart is oshian (pronounced "ocean"), and the nb love (diamoric) counterpart is mwarian (pronounced "mwa-ree-in" I think). These are all part of the geoay+ space, which is comprised of many different terms for black queerness. Tysm for the ask!
