ACROSS THE GENTRYVERSE
#4 PRIME GENTRY
GENTRY-PRIME NOTES: ONTOLOGICAL CARTOGRAPHY
I keep extensive notes of my exact path across the multiverse. These include this highly stylized map I've etched into my armor, which charts every reality I visit by local variance and entropic decay. The large white star on the left denotes my so-called "Prime" reality.
I am aware that's an onto-egocentric perspective. Bite me.
I determine "Local Variance" by studying local instances of myself, charting observable differences against my own nature as a baseline. It's a flawed metric, but it's the only one I've got. It's the same reason I only ever visit realities I exist in: helps me preserve sanity and not get lost.
Gentries? Gentry? Is our name plural or singular? FUCK, what about Variants with totally different names?
After many leaps, I've come to believe that all Gentrys, and thus all universes and entities that emerged within them, exist on a sliding scale of ontological variance: like a hall of mirrors, each more distorted the further I go from the relative vantage point of my origin universe. Following that logic, I believe there must exist a instance of myself that's my perfect ontological opposite. I've dubbed this theoretical doppelganger of mine
"Counter-Gentry".
It's the best name I could come up with. "ANTI-GENTRY", "REVERSE-GENTRY"… … They just don't feel right.
I can't overstate how fucked this is.
Imagine the worst version of yourself: you, with all your potential and ability, but one whose worldview is so completely opposite of yours that they would destroy everything you are because they would view your existence as fundamentally repulsive. A nightmare reflection of you.
Your very own personal "Mr. Hyde".
With how depraved and dangerous some of my instances have been… I've figured out multiversal travel via means of quantum tunneling on an intellectual lark; as my intellectual mirror but moral opposite, they will make all the same discoveries I have, and immediately leverage them to cause harm on an unfathomable scale. This Counter-Gentry variant would be too depraved and dangerous to be allowed to exist in any universe.
And seeing as how I'm the only Gentry I've found traveling along the multiversal constant, the task of putting my personal devil to the sword falls to me. Good news, finding them is easy: every leap I make further from my home brings me closer to them.
Of course, my opposite must be doing the same. The second they crack multiversal travel, they'll realize what I have, and for much the same reason as I'm hunting them, they'll hunt me back. This catastrophic encounter is not just likely, but our antipodal natures make it truly inevitable.
We will find each other.
And when we do, for better or worse, this ends.
Another possibility has kept me up at night lately. If the universe is infinite, then variance must be infinite. Does that mean that there's no PERFECT COUNTER-GENTRY, BUT RATHER AN UNENDING LEGION OF GENTRYS SO DEPRAVED THAT WE'LL INEVITABLY BE DRAWN INTO SOME CRAZY ENDLESS CONFLICT? BY LEAVING MY HOME REALITY, DID I START A MULTIVERSAL WAR… WITH MYSELF?
.........LOG END.........
A new year means a new peak into my "ACROSS THE GENTRYVERSE" project! My patrons voted and they wanted to see what a multiversal Gentry would look like, surely inspired by my good friend @therightrighthand 's awesome Delverse and their character DEL-PRIME. I've fallen out of posting these here, but in fairness, I've got a lot of places to post and this one skipped my mind for this project. I'll make a point of fixing that. Im recommitting myself to making sure that every month, my Patrons will vote on what world to go to, and you'll all see the final results here! In the meantime, GENTRY will continue in his Helldiver 2 comic universe every other week as normal! Thanks Voyagers~

I think Anyone Izuku should fight the RAADSC plot as a warm up for when he beat AFO to the ground
Oh, please, that's not a warm up. I believe that RAADSC!Izuku can kill Anyone!AFO.
Me, every time I write Izuku and AFO interacting for the first time in a fic: “How many hints can I drop that those two are very obviously related?“
Can you elaborate a little more on how the canon backstory is incompatible with your AFOs?
When I write a character, I need to have at least a vague idea of what their life was in order to know what choices they are currently making. The more important the character is in my fics, the more detailled the backstory is.
I am a dad for one writer. AFO is ludicrously important in my fics and I have been shaping his actions after a specific backstory. (Usually, he had a normal childhood where his parents favored him over Yoichi.)
If I change Yoichi and AFO's backstory after I wrote several chapters of them in my fics, their previous actions become OOC and honestly, I am not sure I would be able to write them anymore.
Also, for simpler reasons I also have plenty of fics where AFO already told Izuku of his backstory, which would mean a massive retcon.
Example number 1: In Anyone, AFO is furious at the Dawn of Quirks government for giving up on superpowered people and basically waiting for them to be massacred. Teenage AFO was terrified for his life, terrified to lose his brother, and his whole thing is "If laws and rules can’t protect me, why bother following them?"
Canon AFO, as I see him, never had his realization because he was in survival mode since day 1. That changes who AFO is. And that's not even talking about the fact AFO and Yoichi were feral the first years of their lives, the fact I am pretty sure AFO was raised by the vestiges in his head, and how I need a month to find how it would affect his parental behavior with Izuku.
That's why I have a non retcon rule when it comes to my fic. If I have already created the backstory, it stays how it is, no matter what canon says.

in your au where izuku gets isekai-ed into a otome game how long would iz take for eighter his uncle or ago to motive he's gone?
I keep imagining a scene where their in their castle about to watch a broadcast from the holy kingdom and insted gets a image of izuku kissing shoto on an alter with a priets screamming "I pronounce you married!" Over the explosions and fire :3
What a wonderful question! The truth is that, since Yoichi spends most of his time into the magical equivalent of a vault and since AFO doesn't care about his son, it might have taken them a couple of years to notice that Izuku was gone, in usual circumstances.
However, since Izuku is a very logical boy who runs out of the creepy demon otome home as soon as he realized he got isekaied, I had to find a way to keep him where the shenanigans happened. So Izuku is grounded when the story starts, because AFO doesn't trust him not to bring shame to his name.
Points at Izuku: This is Izuku. He loves his personal space.
Points at AFO, who is currently hugging Izuku and trying to not have his arm bitten off: This is All For One, he also loves Izuku's personal space
I love how it applies to every AFO in every AUs of mine.
AFO (after everyone denied his claim on his perfect son):
I’ll take this to the Court
Judge: The Court rules in favor of Yagi Toshinori. I find he is clearly the boy's biological father!
AFO: *Seething
Hell Lawyer: Sensei, I warned you this wasn’t my area of expertise.
That's actually a lie as the Hell Lawyer is an expert in everything, it's just that AFO is such bad father material that it would take a divine miracle for him to win custody.
