In early 2016, shortly after the airing of "Graybles 100+", I came up with a theory on how Simon would be... fixed. The theory in its base form, is that the gem missing from the Ice Thing in the end of the episode was removed from the crown and used in some way to save Simon, most likely serving as a power source to halt the aging process. I hoped the miniseries would end with Betty finally fixing Simon, or at least shed some light on the whole idea. While that did not happen, there is something I'd like to mention. At the end of "Skyhooks II", the left-most gem of the Ice Crown falls out briefly, and if my memory serves me correctly, it is the same gem missing from the Ice Thing, (though if it isn't that's irrelevant to my point.) I think that when LSP put on the crown, her anti-elemental essence starting acting upon it in some way, and the gem falling foreshadows an event in the future where that becomes relevant. With the Ice Thing, a lot of people think that it is Simon, though I digress. I have, since the episode aired, always though of the Ice Thing as an embodiment of the crown itself. What if the crown's wish magic was re-programmed, and as a side-effect, became it's own entity? What if the crown is already its own entity, and a trade-off was made in order to bargain for Simon? Is it possible that the elemental magic used to create the crown is undone(by LSP),somehow freeing Simon? Please let me know your thoughts.
