This picture speaks multiple things to me. It reiterates doing gender by applying specific colors to a certain gender. The blue post-it has “HE” written on it, presuming that the color blue is a male/masculine/boy color. The pink post-it has “SHE” written in it, emphasizing that the color pink is only applicable to females/girls, or the opposite gender. Unfortunately, these colors have set gender rules in our society, where boys are supposed to act a certain way, while females are also expected to behave appropriately.
Society tells kids to play with toys that are made for their gender. Children should be able to play with whatever they want, no matter gender.
Gender rules can suck my minge
I almost yelled at this women in the mall today...this lady kept moving her son away from the makeup section and perfume. When he would look at the "girly" section his whole face would light up he was fascinated with it. When his mom pull him away from it while stating that "the stuff was for girls" his face dropped and he looked at the ground. I wanted to say something but it's not my place. I just felt so bad for that little boy. Gender Rules Are Utter Bullshit.

Around a Year Ago..
Picture this. An outdoor amphitheater packed full with kids from 10-18. Strategically placed among them are college age students who are questioning their sanity that this moment. Now all attention is on the stage as a man dressed as a woman prances on. The kids go wild. Following him is a woman dressed as a man. This elicits so response.
Me to camp friends: "Isn't it odd that children find men dressed as a woman more hilarious than a women dressed as a man? Like could it be a representation of the strict gender roles we have in our society?"
Coworkers "OMG A MAN DRESSED AS A WOMAN. HE EVEN IS WEARING A DRESS"
Me: "Forgive them Sociology. For they know not what they do"
