I'm interested in watching more episodes before I decide how I really feel. But I agree that it's hard to get a sense of the characters or where they might go with the story from the first ep. Seeing Alysson be the opposite of Jane was fun, though.
It is fun seeing Alysson play such a different character! There was never a moment when I looked at her and was confused that Jane was being out of character, because she so clearly wasn’t Jane.

Interesting. I don't care yet, but I'm curious enough--especially since some of the character names suggest Twelfth Night--to watch again. Also, I think we're hearing about the bride and groom but haven't met them, so there's a little mystery...
A lot of the Shakespeare references have gone straight over my head - so perhaps there’s also some mysteries there, too, and I’m just not seeing them.

Yay I read the first two book within the past few months and loved them. Need to pick up the third. I'm current reading butler's Parable of the Talents.

Hmm I never thought of the Daine similarities! I really disliked the third book (the style shift, even the plot made me irrationally angry), but this is definitely a fair recommendation. Have you read Jemisin's Dreamblood duo? I liked those as well.
I did like the third book actually, but each to their own! Has anyone read the 3.5th novella? It’s a different writing style again but I enjoyed it a lot.
Anyway it reminds me especially Daine #3 and #4, which were my favourites in that series. I haven’t read Jemisin's Dreamblood books or Butler's Parable of the Talents yet - they’re on my list but I just read 6 sci fi/fantasy novels in a row (3 in Butler’s Xenogenesis series right before this) and I need to take a break from genres set in weird worlds for a little bit. Just picked up a random historical fiction book from the library though, and I might also go back to romance for a book or two

it is SURPRISINGLY DIFFICULT to find five things I like about myself that I can articulate clearly without feeling like I sound cocky or ridiculous!
I was also surprised by how difficult this task was. I kept thinking of things that I like to do rather than things I like about myself. Why are compliments so hard to receive, even when they come from yourself?

It has been a good day! Though I didn't plan it very well actually--the movie turned out to be THREE HOURS LONG so my housemate had already eaten by the time I got home! But she still accompanied me to dinner.

(a) The tacos were delicious! (b) I know, right?! I can't wait to read it. The author is Jordan Stratford, if you want to look for it yourself--it is a kids' book though. I'm sure I'll post a review after I read it.
