Let Me Take Care of You

"Come on, Sammy," Deanna said, shuffling her younger sister into the motel room. Her eyes roamed behind them, making sure no one and nothing was watching them. "Let's get you fixed up."

Sam released a whimper at the movement as her sister helped her into one of the chairs that sat around the rickety table. The elder flicked on the light beside the door before pulling the med kit from her bag as Sam shrugged out of her oversized sweatshirt.

A hiss left the taller, longer haired brunette, a wince pulling at her full lips as her hazel eyes landed on the long, deep scratches the ghost had made when it had grabbed her and threw her before they could light the pile of bones ablaze.

"Shit," she cursed when she finally got a look at the marks.

"Yeah, this one needs stitches," Deanna said, moving to carefully twist her sister's arm towards her. "Your back alright?" She asked, pouring liquor over the open wounds.

Sam groaned, turning her head and taking the whiskey from her sister after she'd used it to disinfect the wound and needle. "Yeah," she said through clenched teeth, wincing at the first pierce of the needle through torn open flesh. "I think so," the words sounded more hopeful than truthful. Her breath hitched at the first pull of the thread that knitted her skin together, cursing and swallowing another gulp of whiskey.

Deanna tried to be as careful and quick as she could, hating to see Sam injured but caring for her had always been well within her domain. She mumbled an apology when she tied off the thread, putting a water tight bandage on it and cleaning the smaller wounds surrounding it. Her eyes tracked over what she could see of Sam's broad shoulders and back from under her sister's black tank top.

"You sure you didn't cut up your back when you landed? Break somethin'?"

Sam shook her head slightly, looking at her. "It didn't," she said, sitting forward and taking off her top to show off the beginnings of bruises but the lack of cuts on her back. "I'm fine," she reassured, as Deanna checked her over more thoroughly. "Thanks," she said, leaning towards Deanna's concerned and careful fingers as they slid over her yellowing skin. She looked over her shoulder before standing with a wince, bra still covering her chest. "You sure you're okay?" Sam's eyes roved over Deanna, tiredness pulling at her lids even as she tried to check over the crouching woman.
