what we know about sardonyx right now is that she has already appeared in the series and that she is hiding in plain sight

my #1 theory: the temple

i’m p sure its commonly accepted that the temple is a statue of the 5-gem fusion of the crystal gems, sapphire ruby amethyst pearl and rose quartz

what i really want is for this next steven bomb to be exposition about the homeworld gem invasion, complete with more pearlrose and what the frick actually happened during the massive final battle at the strawberry battlefield. this would naturally include the appearance of sardonyx (assuming she is the temple) in order to defeat blue diamond

Backstory of tourmaline

Tourmaline was made for tactics. She is fairly young and hasn't really seen the battle for earth. Home world no longer talks about earth besides the fact that there are no more life forms on it. She worked for yellow diamond but when reading about fusions in a book she found with a pink diamond on it. she was surprised that they left this one book and nothing else from pink diamond. She realized that fusion was not what  they thought it was. She saw the error of her ways and decided to change course. Making the experiment she had been running and destroying them. Well the whole reason that happened was because her comrade gave her the book. They wanted her job so they needed her to commit treason. This gem then went to tell that Tourmaline was committing treason. To which she was banished and put into a large prison pod and pushed out to spend the rest of her life in space .

After probably thousands of years the ball ended up falling to earth and into the water near beach city. The crystal gems thinking it was another attack quickly went to find it. Steven and Connie where the first to find it only to see someone screaming trying to get out. After a little bit there would be nothing and then a bright light and it would start again. Steven and Connie soon realized that the gem in there was trapped  and drowning and tried to get her out. Thats when the crystal gems came and Finally succeeded on breaking the prison cell open. But Tourmaline had retreated into her gem thinking that there was no way to be rescued.

After a few days Tourmaline came out of her gem but would stay huddled in a ball staring at nothing. Steven would try to talk to her but the gems pulled him away thinking she was dangerous. One day they all went on a mission leaving Steven so he decided to talk to her. He was the first person to do so getting her to get out of her frozen state. He showed her around beach city and the crystal gems place. And made her feel at home. The Crystal gems came back and Steven told them that she was good. They still did not believe him but they at least taught her the ways of a crystal gem. But when they destroyed a monster thy would put the gem in a ball and bring it in that room they where always at... she did not understand was this like  when she was put into the orb. She did not like it. She still stayed with them because she enjoyed Steven and he was a great friend but after a while she could feel that the other gems did not trust her.... they did not like her and it scared her so she ran. She ran far away writing a message that she was sorry for being a burden.

After a few days of running she realized she was alone once again. So her only instinct to do was to sit in her ball staring at nothing. She was terrified of being alone. That’s when she met Citrine and Amnetrine. Amnetrine right form the start did not like her becaus e she was so afraid of being alone and had that slight clingy attitude with her slightly rude. And the fact that Tourmaline thinking they where nice just started following them. On there trip Citrine and Tourmaline became friends and tourmaline had this strange feeling that she must protect Citrine no matter what. They met Turquiose and somehow became like the guardians of the galaxy. Defeating bad gems that they find along the way. But Tourmaline not knowing any better would destroy the gems making sure that there gems where in bits and the bits where separated. SHe felt in her mind that dieing was better than imprisonment. Amnetrine did not like that. And tourmaline could tell that amnetrine didn't like her. She didn't know why she would try and try and try to get her to like her but it never worked. It finally got to the point that she realized nothing would work so she cried and ran away. Just like before only this time she believed she truly was a monster.

She hid herself in a cave like structure. Going back to her fettle position stare. And there she sat for a long time. She didn't really know how long. That wasn’t until a clumsy gem somehow fell through the mountain and landed on top of her. She still laid in her staring mood. It had been a while since she moved so she just kind of stayed there.

“Hello?  Hellloooo  helloooooooo are you ok???” THe other gem who had fallen on her asked. SHe still stid there staring at nothing untill it clicked in her mind that somehting just fell on her from thousands of feet. Quickly she retreated back into her gem. The other gem freaking out picking up the gem and walking around with it. mumbling/ crying things about what had they done they just killed them they where so sorry.  After a while Tourmaline regenerated and came back.  And told the other gem her story. 

“Have you ever tried this.... not destroying the gems.... just like moving them so that no one dies and no one is trapped?” The other gem the only one smart enough to tell the poor bab that killing was wrong said. SHe agreed not to kill the gems again

Now they are the tag team duo of nerd gems who travel around helping. THe pirate/cowgirl gem and the greaser gem. By day they fight  gems and make messes but by night they are major nerds an watch west side story and blair spg rex marksley and captian albert alexander. There fusion is even  Tourmaline doing Captain albert alexander moves and (insert name of other gem because i forgot it) doing the beginning number of west side story. BOth of them doing the west side story kick it turning into a walts and then going into the ruby saphire spin.  

Tourmaline is sassy and straightforward. She doesn't hold back what she is trying to say. She doesn't know why she should.. if she thinks your an idiot she will tell you.  SHe doesn't understand why gems do the big show of there weapons she usually just goes indiana jones pulls out her gun and shoots while they are being all fancy. They once had to fight an amnethyst form home world who had the whip for a weapon her only response                                                   

and then, on an unrelated note, they were like. “I wonder what vidalia means”
