So last night at bedtime my 4.5yo asked for a “Bluey story”, by which he meant an original story featuring Bluey Heeler, the cartoon dog. Now at that point it’s late, and my brain is soup, so I’m hard pressed to come up with anything resembling a plot.
Enter the story of The Great Wizard Bluey and the time she helped the Mighty Nein with a quest to get an Ancient White Dragon to breathe on a special sword:
Now, the Mighty Nein had come to seek the aid of the Great Wizard Bluey, because she was very powerful and not afraid of anything.
They had a quest to get an Ancient White Dragon to breathe on a special sword to make it magical, because everyone knows Ancient White Dragons have frost breath that makes things magical - but everyone also knows that Ancient White Dragons are grumpy. You can’t just visit one and ask them to breathe on your sword, no - they will be suspicious that you have come to steal their treasure and breathe on you instead, turning you into a popsicle! So you have to trick them.
The Great Wizard Bluey agreed to join the Mighty Nein on their quest, and together they travelled far across Dangerous Mountains, through Deep, Dark Forest, and across Frozen Tundra until they came at last to a big big mountain in the Flotket Alps where the Ancient White Dragon Gelidon had her lair…
