Gelda's condition - difference between novelisation and the movie in the attack on Zalem scene. Possible hint of her fate?
Gelda in the movie looked alright, but in the book her face was torn.
I always imagined the red blood appearing in a cyborg means things are really serious. And since it's the head, that could mean the injury reached the brain.
Gelda could be fatally wounded and saving Alita is the last thing she does.
If that's the case, maybe if Alita gets another flashback in the sequel, it'll turn out Gelda had a wound not visible to the audience.
It really depends what was the idea here.
Just the drama effect or actually part of the plot (Gelda dying soon after saving Alita). And if the plot idea was changed.
Hierarchy in the URM
We learn in the novelisation Alita was of "lesser stature" while Nova was of "the most elite of the elite".
But I wonder where is Gelda in this?
In the movie, Gelda had chrome markings (or is it other metal lol?). I don't recall book mentioning that.
If the markings are chrome, that would suggest belonging to the elite.
But the elite of the elite is so rare they're never seen by people like Alita, and well, Alita sees Gelda, eh? (also, you don't send elite of the elite to fight, I think?)
Anyway, I assume Gelda has a high position in the URM's hierarchy, but lower than Nova.
