I came across something and... I'm not sure how to feel about this.
Clearly this thing is somehow a distant relation... A missing link in Gek evolution? A divergent branch? These creatures had no semblance of intelligent language, though.
I mean, the similarities are shocking. I need to submit these photos and coordinates to a research center. I dunno, should I censor them first for modesty's sake?
I even found one of their young. Felt like he was just an average little spawnling.
Interesting, but I gotta say also a creepy experience.
(Hope this branch of Geks evolve in a more pleasant way than my ancestors did.)
Ex-Pirate Gek NMS OC... She is now a hauler/transporter freelancer working for a weird Korvax.

Ya'll ever think about how in NMS it seems that for the longest time, the races of the Universe were all forced into a major Diaspora by the Sentinels?
Pre-Frontiers, there was scant few signs of any truly organised planetside societies. Sure, we had outposts, Trading posts and other such things. But never anything that resembled a proper community. And not without reason. For a while, Sentinels were the biggest pain in the ass mechanically and still are in the lore. They so much as see you step on a flower and you're suddenly being hunted across the system.
Obviously you can't settle large-scale populations if the harvesting of vital resources can and will anger the local Multiverse Police so what else could everybody do but just flee into space? Everybody would have to make do in isolated shelters planetside or suck it up and live out their days aboard ships or stations.
That was until the resurgence of Travellers. With us showing up en masse and casually soloing entire Sentinel hordes and pirate fleets before planting our flags on each and every planet we came across, it stands to reason we may have inadvertently given the various peoples much needed breathing room and allowed them to take footholds on the planets again. Of course, still small at the time of writing this, nothing more than modest towns and villages. But still, it must have been a great day for everybody to realise they may have a chance actually living planetside now and it likely will only get better from here.
I played probably too much No Man's Sky recently.
