As for your second, thank you!! I'm so happy you like the titles I pick <3 Honestly, titles are usually so difficult for me, and typically the very last thing I decide on before posting a fic. "An Unstoppable Force Between Static Stars" is actually a unique case where the title came to me before most of the fic was written, lol, but I knew I wanted to have the "unstoppable force" bit in there since it is a Forces rewrite. The static stars was intended to reference Sonic and Tails's bond being immutable and constant, especially with all the star and space imagery surrounding them (and with Sonic being in literal space, lol).

With other fics, my process for coming up with titles is kind of like throwing a bunch of gibberish at the wall and seeing what sticks xD I have a nebulous idea of themes and then I write out a bunch of different options in a list that range from a play on words or reworking a popular saying. Writing down a bunch of different titles helps me narrow down what I feel really captures the vibes of the fic.

I've still got a few of the titles I was workshopping for what eventually became The Patches Don't Quite Fit Together (but your Yarn Made a Warm Blanket Anyway). This is kind of what my word docs end up looking like for a while:

I really liked the play on words when it came to "spinning a yarn" (i.e., telling a story) and using that to show how Sonic's stories were intended to comfort Tails (like a blanket!), and all the different "memories" were being patched together, so you can see towards the end I was trying to convey that through the title options. I definitely gravitate towards more "artsy" titles, lol but I try to give simpler ones a shot, too! The titles are like, the first glimpse into the fic, so I like them to feel like an extension of it, and often times they just wind up a bit more on the poetic side.

Anyway, I put a lot of thought and time into coming up with my titles, so it really makes my day to hear that you think they're beautiful and that you love them! I'm super proud of "The Cost of Chaos Can't be Paid in Gold" and a bunch of others, too. It's really nice to know that effort is appreciated <3 Thanks so much for letting me know!!

But if you eventually manage to put down on paper (or in a docs document) a part two for wobbly hearts I'll be the first to read it. I still have a lot of questions about Lloyd's soulmate situation 👀

I told her most probably not at least in the first book for sure not since Its not on the tags and Its not really the main focus of the fic.

Still we were joking that it would be funny if it did happen due to the whole Skylor and Cole thing and my friend said that Kai had two hands so it doesn’t need to be a problem.

I also noticed that you don’t really write romance? Theres nothing wrong with that of course just thought it would be funny to share this interaction with my friend (he’s sees your tumblr from time to time as a anon so i’m here to also embarace him 💃💃)

Like Lloyd never expected writing or anything so he ignored the scratching sensation on his arm and Kai already had three soul mates so he always thought it was one of the others.

And how funny would it be if the boy with the most emotional problems related to soul mates had not one, not two, not three, BUT FOUR soul mates.

And how does it work to have more than one soul mate? Like if Jay writes something on his arm, will it show up for the boys and for Nya, or can he sort of think about which soul mate the message is for? In that case, when Jay didn't know that Kai was his soul mate, was he also receiving Jay's messages for Nya? Because, like, wasn't he actively choosing not to send them to Kai as well? Does that make sense? Probably not, sorry 😔

Well, I’ve explained this before somewhere, not sure where so I’ll just do it again here.

The Wobbly Hearts universe has more than one type of Soulmark. The main four’s soulmarks is the like, writing appears on all of their skin. Nya and Jay’s soulmark is a matching symbol that they share. Nay and Jay CANNOT write to each other, and their symbol does not show up on any other soulmates because it represents THEIR bond and relationship. (Nya has another soulmate that she writes to.) I kinda just wanted to go wild with whatever so it was basically just all types of soulmates if I ever wanted to use them. Having a separate soulmate to write to on top of one group of soulmates would be too complicated, it’s already complicated enough methinks lol

I've been wondering about that since halfway through the book, does Kai have like "his thing"? Like Jay has ADHD and his thing is engineering/math/triangles so I imagine Kai could maybe have his thing too. I imagine as Jay pointed out he's lucky because his thing is something that's taught at school so I think Kai would have something that involved being street smart

But I really wanted to see Kai show others something amazing and super difficult that Kai never told others about because he thought it wasn't interesting or impressive at all. If you want to write something about it let me know or if not you can just say what Kai's thing is to make my little fan heart happy...?

Bonus when Kai finally comes home and has a mental breakdown on the sofa saying what a disappointment and a failure he is and apologizing for being such a horrible person. Everyone there must have felt like the worst mother/father/sister in the world because like no one had any idea how bad Kai was

And are we going to talk about Kai getting shot or some crap like that or is it going to be a piece of lore that Kai drops accidentally in like six months in a conversation and everyone looks at him horrified like, wtf dude?

I was re-reading the first few chapters and I realized the following: Kai spent 75% of the fic digging his own grave, but to his defense everyone was accidentally giving him materials to keep digging 🥹

AND I HAVE MY OWN TAG?! Like I saw the tag but I didn't realize it was my name😭 (attention deficit at its best). No jokes, I swore it was an abbreviation of some English expression

OHHHHHHH THE WAY I’M ACTUALLY SO TEMPTED TO DO THAAAAAAT YOU HAVE NO IDEAAAAAA. I could talk for so long about how I decided to write Kai and Nya’s parents, so many rambles my dude. I PUT A LOT OF THOUGHT INTO THIS FIC IF YOU COULDN’T TELL. Imagine work eating up your life while you’re trying to give your kids the best life you can and then realizing both of them are two steps away from serious issues because all they really need in their life is YOU and YOU’RE NOT THERE. FACE IN HANDS

If Kai has his way, no one will EVER find out about that thank you very much. (I do have a funny scene in my head if Skylor comes back and she goes “remember when we hung out and got shot at lollll” and he goes “lolll yeah that was wild” and then realizes everyone is staring at him after which he gets a lecture from every single member of team ninja)

HE SURE DID!!! Listen, as much as outside sources can be a source of hurt and harm, at the end of the day, Kai was ashamed and convinced himself there was nothing that could be done. Nothing could ever get better until he chose to stop digging and hiding and start reaching out and relying on others again

By the way, how did the three of them remember Kai's hearts? Like they had said in their pov that they genuinely didn't remember a fourth soul mate

And what happened to the autograph Kai gave Jay? As far as we know he can sell it for thousands of whatever currency ninjago has since it's the only autograph the red ninja has ever given.

Listen the Green Ninja has been around longer than the rest of them and he is by FAR the fan favourite of the city in the Wobbly Hearts universe. I thought the other ninja getting waved down just to be asked if they can deliver messages or things to the Green Ninja was a silly idea that illustrated that okayGJLKSDF

I think the way I had it planned was that they do remember Kai’s hearts, they just assume it was Zane that drew them, and then when the whole reveal thing happens they bring it up and realize that’s not the case. I had a lot of notes for the fic and some of them may have gotten lost in the shuffle of writing XD
