“Girls aren’t funny.” 

Says who? It’s 2016 and women are proving that outdated statement wrong. Celebrities like Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are great, popular examples of this but all kinds of women are also making people laugh every day. Some are using social platforms to do it; I follow a lot of funny women on Twitter, below is a list of the top 10 I recommend following.  I like them all so much I wasn’t sure how to come up with a fair ranking system, so I ranked them based on their follower count. This is a diverse list of women ranging in age, race, location, and online popularity. But they all have one thing in common: they are women who are good at making their twitter followers laugh. Also, beware that most of these users are a part of the weird side of Twitter with a modern since of humor that can be crude and make some people uncomfortable.

I confess I follow this girl mainly because we have the same name. Her tweets aren’t always fire, but sometimes she’ll tweet something really relatable or undeniably funny and I’ll find myself trolling her page looking for similar tweets.

I like this account because it seems so genuine and I believe it is. This girl tweets a lot about funny things that happen to her. Everyday humor is always good humor.

This account has a weird since of humor and I’m about it. They tweet about their everyday life, current events, memes, and relationships. They can laugh at anything and I think there tweets are good reminders that you don’t have to take anything too seriously.

This girl, Sam, is a writer. So of course, she writes good tweets. She often tweets about feminism and other social issues and is still funny while doing it.

Most of Yuna’s followers would probably say this is a sad twitter account but sometimes it’s dark humor. Her metaphors can make you laugh at how sad things can be. I think that’s a necessary kind of humor sometimes.

Shay is a student at the University of Alabama and her crude humor is so ridiculous I can’t help but laugh out loud. The one above is one of her more... tame tweets. I’ll be scrolling through twitter waiting for class to start and a tweet from Shay will have me ugly laughing and hoping no one was reading over my shoulder.

This account does a lot of retweeting and normally I don’t like that but this account retweets a lot of different people with solid tweets. Tweets I never would’ve seen if they didn’t retweet it. They also have good original tweets, mainly comically sad ones about relationships. They’ll make you laugh about how alone you are.
