Gavin open the moss green egg to reveal a slip with the number two on it, bringing his total to nineteen. The paper burns into a red flame quickly and disappear. Right after, Gavin hears a voice booming over the magical intercom. “At this time, the time limit for our annual Easter Egg Hunt has concluded. Please return to the Atrium entrance for an announcement concerning the winners of this years competition.”

Gavin climbs up the carpets to retrieve the blue egg, which opens to reveal a paper with the number ten on it bringing his total to seventeen. The paper floats away quickly and Gavin is startled when the magic carpet he’s sitting on follows it, twisting and turning until it drops him in a heap on the atrium floor. There he spots two eggs a red one on the arrivals fireplace mantel on the left-hand side of the room and a moss green egg on the right-hand departures fireplace mantel. Which does he check out?

Gavin opens the yellow egg to find a slip of paper that reads seven before disappearing in a blue cloud of smoke. Now having a total of seven points in the contest, he ventures up to Level 2: Magical Law Enforcement. He wanders into the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Department. He sees a deep blue egg sitting atop a stack of magic carpets while a light purple egg sits on an inoffensive looking shoe. Which does he try to retrieve?

Gavin starts his quest for eggs on Level 1: The Minister’s Office and Support Staff Rooms. He notices a green egg in the office of the Minister’s Undersecretary and is about to retrieve it when he sees there’s also a yellow egg across the hall in the Junior Assistant to the Minister’s office. Which does he check out?

“Oh my gosh, we did it!” Becca exclaimed gleefully. She’d been sitting with Gavin for what felt like hours now, trying to teach him just a simple charm to dry his hair. The way he’d described its ability to retain moisture had practically defied nature, but that had just made her all the more determined to tweak a drying charm to make it work even on his hair. And now, they had a final product -- a dry head, and a happy Gavin.

“I’m so happy, I can’t even imagine how you must feel! You must be on cloud nine, you’re never going to have to walk around dripping again,” Becca giggled, reaching out to ruffle Gavin’s hair proudly.

Boys were so hopeless sometimes, honestly. Blair had already had to practically move Gavin around like he was a puppet to get him to have any sort of rhythm at all during the Dung Beetles concert, and now that it was Duncan’s birthday and she’d thrown a real party for all of Hogwarts to celebrate it, Gavin was embarrassing himself again.

“Nuh uh, stop flailing around like a fish,” Blair instructed, reaching out to take her friend’s arm. “It’s ladies choice now, I’m going to teach you how to do a waltz or something more useful this time.” She steered him onto the dance floor, not really caring that the music wasn’t quite right for it. Gavin would thank her for this, someday... probably not today, but he’d need to know eventually if he ever wanted to impress people with his dancing!
