I think I've mentioned it in previous tags, but Lav(aka Gasterfied!Mal) does have regenerative properties.
This doesn't mean that he can't be killed per se, but that death is just temporary for him.
He basically goes into a coma once he's sustained enough damage, the length of time he remains in that coma depends on the amount of damage he takes.
Shoot him through the heart? That'll take about 2 days to fully heal and for him to wake up.
Cut off his head? 1½ weeks of regenning before he can get back up.
"Killing" Lav isn't the hard part, hes actually pretty easy to kill all things considered because he's not immune to anything other than like, battery acid and a resistance to ice based Magic because of his thick coat.
Once he's snapped out of the eating rampage cause by the flightlace transforming him, it's a lot easier to get the drop on him for containment, especially in the 3 hour window of him stumbling around confused and dazed as hell.
Once he's caught and restrained, you could just dump him into a big pool of acid, so long as it's more corrosive than battery acid, and basically put him in a state of suspended animation while his regen factor combats the corrosion of the acid.
Though if you did let him snap out of the daze, he'd probably just chill, depends on if he views you as a threat or not.
