This garden path has a very calming effect on me and I love it for that reason, especially nowadays! Do you feel the same? The different shades of green from light green to very saturated tones, the white from the abundantly flowering rose at the end of the path to the right, and the lavender of the catmint which is lining the path to both sides are just enough to give the eye some interest to look at and also plenty of space to rest on. The clear straight structure of the path and the pruned topiaries is juxtaposed by the free flowering rose and the billowing catmint. Everything together creates a scene of great harmony and peace. Garden lessons to be learned! I am thinking about how to incorporate and adapt what I see and like here in this picture into my own new garden in Austin. This photo was taken at a private garden tour in Devon, England about six years ago. I apologize that I can not give you a more specific description where the garden is located. My old laptop crashed and I lost the names of the locations where I took the photos. I am lucky that my husband made back ups of the images for me.
