City of Gardena USPS - 1939. Construction of the #streamlinemoderne building was funded through the Federal Works Agency – one of Franklin Roosevelt "New Deal projects" which helped to bring the United States out of the Great Depression. Inside is a spectacular mahogany bas relief carving titled "Rural Life" by Rudolph Parducci - it is no doubt inspired by life in Gardena in the 30s which had just incorporated into a City in 1930 and was still primarily a rural, agricultural primarily Japanese community. @usps #gardenaca #beautifularchitecture #locationoftheday #lmgi #peter.mcclafferty #locationscouting (at Gardena, California)
