Today I spent the entire day working at the orchard. I have a few free days and I can’t really travel, so I thought I might as well do as much work in the garden as I can cram in those days. Once I start work again I’ll probably have only every other weekend for this. I tilled about ¾ or the plot to get in ready for veggies (I actually went over that surface twice with the tiller because apparently I hate myself that much), planted some bushes and grape vines that still needed to go in the ground and then finally put up the posts for that row of berry bushes. I couldn’t find any proper posts for sale, so I thought I might as well use the concrete ones from the fence separating the two orchards that’s useless anyway. I knew it’ll take a long time, but I didn’t realize how just hard it’ll be to pull out 9 concrete posts that weigh like 35 kg each, move them across the orchard and then dig holes deep enough to line them securely. That pretty much took the entire afternoon, but I’m so happy they finally in the ground and how it turned out. I mean look how well they’re lined. On Monday I’ll buy some wire and I’ll put the plants up. It’ll be so nice to not step all over them when walking by. In my nativity, I thought I could plant some garlic and onions as well today, but even if I had the time, I don’t think my legs or my back would have been up for that. I had my phone in my pocket the entire day and I was curious how many steps I had by the end of the day. I walked 11 km in that goddam orchard. 11 km. At least all I have planned for tomorrow is to feed myself, so I’ll get to be lazy and rest.
