Well good evening everyone. So tonight’s topic is... yep you guessed it Xbox Gamesharing. Now, this may be common knowledge to most people, but apparently here in Oklahoma... nobody knows. People always come to me for gaming advice. Whether that be what is the coolest game out, or hey I need more space on my system what do I do? This being in my personal life and the majority in my professional life at work. Just today a customer was asking me about different external hard drives and happened to ask me which one I had. I told him about my Seagate 8TB and he just gave me this baffled look which I interpreted as “what in the hell dude why?”. I told him well when you share 250+ games with your younger brother you need the extra storage. Now I have had this same conversation countless times over the last few years at Gamestop and my current job. The only thing that has changed is the number of games we share. 

So I figured hey why not make a post about it to get the word out to let all you people know what ya been missin’ out on. So for starters, you are going to need to find someone to share these games with. Next, you’ll each need to sign in to each others Xbox Ones. Lastly head over to the settings and click on Personalization. From there you’ll see a few options, but for this quest, you just need to select My home Xbox. You need to select Make this My home Xbox. REMEMBER! You and your player 2 will do this while signed in to YOUR profiles on THEIR Xbox. This will now allow you to purchase games digitally on either one’s profile, but both will have access to the item. 

Sound too good to be true right? Well, it's not all happily ever after. Like most things in life, there are pros and cons. For instance, as you might guess this way of buying games leaves you without anything to trade to purchase new games. Not that GameStop gives you anything to work with, but alas that is a rant for another day. If either one of you moves the home Xbox to another person's console you lose access to their items. Which leads to having those conversations of which account does the content get purchased under. Now the pros are pretty sweet. You’ll each pay half price for a game you both get instead of double on your own. You thought Black Friday was awesome just wait until you cut those costs in half. After a while, you’ll end up like me with more games than you can finish. Which is both awesome and awful.
