Honorable Mention: Game of Flags
This was a flat out FUN episode. All of the jokes hit, the game itself was entertaining (in an “I Survived a Japanese Game Show” kinda way), and it was nice to see some of Star’s relatives. I must have enjoyed it more than most people though, since it went to the Sour 16 on the recent “Worst A episodes” tournament on Reddit.
I also really liked the subtle continuity here. There were both references to past episodes (like Marco’s whole thing with wet socks), and foreshadowing (like when Etheria reminds Moon that Lord Mildrew is still single). I think this is an appropriate time to bring up this post I replied to a long time ago.
