#game issue

so a couple weeks ago my friend and i both got phasmophobia because she finally had gotten a PC laptop like she'd wanted, so we could play games. it was completely fine, working perfectly, until about a week ago/a few days ago. all of a sudden, she can't hear me in game. the game is picking up my audio, my microphone is connected, she just can't hear me. I have tried all fixes i've found online, and nothing has worked. she is sure that it isn't a problem on her side (which i am believing less and less, but if it does end up being on her side it's not her fault if she didn't know)

but anyway. does anyone know how to fix this? it's really frustrating and has caused me a lot of stress, and i want to be able to play the game normally again instead of just facetiming while we play.

Me: Well, I know I probably won't finish this... but I want to win that outfit for my character!

Also me: WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT CAN'T FIND ME?!

Again, more me: Ok, I contacted them with that help button. I mean, I need to finish that class that I was almost done with... but it won't let me... I just needed that one and one more...

ONCE MORE, WITH FEELING, ME: I get a reply hours later, they say they are aware and are fixing it. They also say I should have the game updated, if it wasn't before now.I think they said that they fixed it, and the game is working for me now.

Sad part is that I missed out on finishing the class, so I didn't get credit (crests?) towards that event/prize. I have to hurry up in a little over 16 hours to try and get the remaining amount for the outfit, at least. Little irritated they won't extend the time by even a couple hours after this, but whatever.
