#game feedback

Now, this sounds kinda funny because I'm actually a streamer and youtuber, although I did put a pause on it because I'm studying for transport and logistics focusing on international business. When I end up studying, I'm taking my chances again with YT bc I'm good at editing videos and I still want to do videos.

Interestingly enough, I do this thing whenever I'm recording a video I'm this person and then when I get to edit it, I'm a whole another different person. Like a duality. And it's interesting, because on outside I act very dumb but when I'm from behind I'm not that dumb..., it's such a dynamic, lol.

As I'm aware, I don't have an easy time finding a job, yet I'll be trying it with smaller jobs like in hospitality and fast food. I work better behind though, so it makes sense to be inside the kitchen. I've been told that I could potentially be a CEO manager in the future, honestly I don't know? But I could because I have experience managing online groups, never took it to a higher level because I wasn't interested at all. I'm planning to fund businesses in the future though. Because if there's no one doing it, then fuck it, I'll do everything on my own.

I wanted to get into research investigations, but I declined it in favour of artistics. So I'm planning to study to be an actor, but because I want to make movies more professionally and learn from acting more personally since I struggle socializing. From early on I wanted to do art commissions, but I'm not consistent with it because I don't have enough will (unless there's actual money). This sounds like it sucks, and it doesn't because I spend a stupid amount of energy drawing it, yet I'm sure this won't be my main income so I'll do this more as an hobby but can be professional if I'm paid enough for.

Also there's this personal project where I'm planning to write a story, main genre science fiction and possibly thriller/action/comedy, and actually I kind of investigate and research profoundly the theme regarding the story, still I won't give in details yet, lol. This project is very extensive, because I don't want to sit it away with just this and that so I'm actually going with newer scientific articles and investigating studies along with writing about social issues (not only the present ones, but also the past and future ones). As you can see, this is a long project and it doesn't consist in one simple story. Think I'll give in 5 years for that.

And this is more of an assumption, but I always thought that if I got a decent job it would be far away from hometown. Like it just makes sense, because everytime I go far away from hometown it clicks better for me. As if I was meant to travel and be away from everything that reminds of my hometown. Even if I went to another continent, I was always meant to, my heart calls for it.

Yeah I understand, when u do something, spend ur time and energy for it but don't receive anything back, it can be pretty discouraging to continue, wanting money as a compensation for the work we do is VERY VALID (that too in this harsh economy lol 😭😆) I lowkey (high-key) admire artists coz I suck at drawing/painting/crafting and anything related to that lmao, so I totally get astonished by people who have that ability, pls continue ur good work whenever u can, I'm sure you'll find ur way 🥰🤗

It should be well-established that players providing reasonable, well-written feedback about what they (dis)like about a game and why is the best and most actionable way to see real change enacted in the game dev process. I’ve had many productive development conversations with coworkers that came about (and several actually initiated real change behind the scenes) because of useful community feedback. I can’t remember a single instance in my entire career where I’ve ever participated in a serious development conversation brought on because of petitions, boycotts, or review bombs. 

Unfortunately, the big problem with the way things work is that, from the outside looking in, the engaged community players get the exact same results from both approaches - radio silence. This happens in no small part because we work on a different time scale than most player expectation. Unless the problem is some kind of literal service-interrupting game-crashing issue, chances are good the players won’t see the results of our work for another three to six months at earliest. For most live service games, we’re often working one or two patches in the future - if the live game is on content patch A, we’re usually testing, fixing bugs and locking up in content patch B for cert/submission while developing new stuff in content patch C. If we receive community feedback and make changes based on that feedback, it will almost certainly go into the patch that’s still in development - patch C. Because most patch deliveries happen every three months, this means that it is often anywhere from three to six months before the community gets to see the results of their feedback in game. The topic du jour of conversation will likely have moved on by that point.

This assumes that the feedback is for changes that we can make fairly easily, like game balance and adjusting data values. For more resource-intensive requests like asking for better representation for LGBTQIA+ or people of color in the game, I would assume that the community asking for this would want it done right rather than quickly. In order to gather those resources, create the content and validate it, and push it live properly and respectfully, it would take a significant amount of time - especially if we can’t do it all in-house (e.g. if it requires licensor sign-off, voice acting, new animations, etc.). Content created as a result of resource-intensive feedback is likely not to see the light of day for a year at the earliest even if we really want to do it, and even then likely not until the next game (or major expansion) which may be multiple years in the future.

This unfortunately all looks exactly to the community an awful lot like radio silence. We can’t read the community in on what’s going on behind closed doors - things get cut, designs change for a variety of reasons, goals and targets change. When the players are faced with mostly radio silence no matter what they do, joining a collective action with other players like signing a petition, adding to a review bomb, or declaring participation in a boycott can certainly feel a lot more validating and appealing than writing reasonable feedback into what feels like the void. This is really unfortunate because I can promise you that the reasonable feedback is far, far more useful to us as developers and also far, far more likely to result in actual change than any boycott, review bomb, or petition ever will. I’m not sure there’s a good solution to this problem. If you can think of one (that doesn’t involve us spending significant dev time reading forums instead of developing the game), I’m all ears.

It's true that I'm pretty skeptical of arranged marriages and yeah, I never took relationships at a young age, like high school relationships, seriously. They seemed like a waste of time to me cause I didn't see a future in it lol.😅 

The major transformation part after marriage is a bit scary to me cause I feel like I might end up losing my identity and I don't want to become one of those people who's whole persona revolves around their partner. Especially with 7H placement ppl, like myself, I think we can be very susceptible to being more concerned about the "other", rather than prioritizing ourselves.

I have also been told before that due to Saturn in my 7H, there can be a delay in marriage, but it can be a long-lasting, karmic bond. Although, I wonder if after the karmic lesson is learned, then separation may be possible cause I have heard that karmic soulmates come in your life to teach a lesson, then leave, once the past karmic debt is resolved. It would suck to have to be stuck in a cold, distant, and detached marriage due to Saturn.💀

The part of getting to know the personalities of different people is quite spot on, in reality though in manifested differently for me. It still applies, it's just that it's crystal clear for me who I actually want to date or what specific personality is my go-to if I want to eye on someone.

Being involved in love... yeah, I'm kind of guilty in a sense that I'm too smother-y towards people I am fond off. I have that overattachment thing going on, not in a sense of possessive, but out of extreme fondness. I'm anxious-avoidant, but in my usual normal days, I have a mix of mischievous fondness in that "anxious" way of attachment. Though, I'm indifferent with gifts since it's been long since I last received one, but if ever my future spouse were to give me gifts, that would make me feel more valued and appreciated. Although... I would have that con of pressure that I need to reciprocate it with a gift of my own.

Then enemies to lovers trope?! Lowkey I am fan of it, I think it's hot. I find transformation and tension hot. Like when one person is cold/stoic/nonchalant towards others but is caring/attentive towards you, that stark difference is so attractive and in never fails to reel me in that's why I find that trope really fascinating and (even sexually) charged.

In the past I've always had crushes that I ended up teasing or challenging (yes, I turn my romantic interests into competitive rivals), but that didn't seem to work and I tend to overdo it.

The gamer is always right about how they feel about a game. We on the dev side try to construct experiences for players but we cannot control how a player actually feels. If the player dislikes something, those feelings are legitimate. If the player finds something unwieldy or unintuitive, those feelings are legitimate. If the player finds the game unresponsive or not to his tastes, those feelings are legitimate.

The gamer is not always right when it comes to anything outside of their own experiences. The gamer’s views [do not represent the majority of players]. The gamer does not speak for the “true fans”. The gamer often makes up numbers they feel are more [accurate than the reality]. The gamer does not know how the design process works. The gamer does not know what the design intent was. The gamer does not know [how easy it would be to make a change to the game]. The gamer is often [bad at giving feedback]. The gamer doesn’t know which developer is responsible for what feature or content in the game. 

The gamer is absolutely wrong when they cross the line from being angry about a game to start [harassing people at the company]. "I didn’t like this thing in a video game” is fine. “I didn’t like this thing in a video game so I must find this person’s social media or phone number and threaten her” is never ok. Harassment or making death threats toward actual humans is not acceptable behavior.
