Okie dokie! Sorry for the late response but here’s a bunch of Galvs headcanons:

Galvatron likes stimming and things that keep his hands busy. It helps relax and focus.

So if you left Galvs with some knitting needles he’d eventually knit the entire Decepticon army jumpers and scarves.

After seeing him make a gun out of random supposedly safe blocks I fully believe that Galvatron is the equivalent of that guy who can make knives out of anything, just with guns. Leave Galvatron with anything for five minutes and he will be able to make a gun out of it.

I tend to headcanon that Galvs hadn’t got his plasma damage in series 3 he would have eventually ended up like his Beast Wars 2 version. You can’t change my mind on this.

(For those who haven’t seen BW2 (cos it’s a very obscure anime) the Galvatron in that series is just lovely and a big sweetie pie and treats all his men really well and probably bakes cookies in his spare time)

How I feel about this character

Galvatron is a bit of an odd enigma who I feel deserved better. I feel he hasn’t ever quite been done to his full potential. Series 3 Galvs should have been something of a Megatron 2.0 but he never quite worked as that. 

Still, there’s so much you could do with his character, and I’d like to see him done better.

 Also the version of him from the Beast Wars II anime sounds like an adorable fluffy marshmallow and I want to hug him?

All the people I ship romantically with this character

Cyclonus is my main ship for him. I like the difference in dynamic that Galvatron & Cyclonus have versus Megatron & Starscream. Seeing Cyclonus being actually loyal to Galvs and wanting to help him through his problems (even as far as to try and get him professional help, even if that ended up going badly). It’s interesting when compared to what came before. You kinda hope that he does manage to get Galvatron some help (cos goddamn he needs it).

My non-romantic OTP for this character

Hmm I’m not sure actually. Galvatron definitely needs more friends (and support). One odd one I’ve considered is actually Starscream, of all people. But during the movie we see various points where Galvatron tries to defy Unicron control and is clearly quite painfully brought back under heel. You could make a link between Galvatrons time being controlled by Unicron and compare it to how he treated Starscream back when he was Megatron.

I mean, there is the ‘Starscream’s ghost tried to kill Galvatron’ thing getting in the way of this starting up but I still feel there’s got to at least be a good fanfic idea in there somewhere.

My unpopular opinion about this character

Him killing Starscream in the movie is fine and actually totally amazing. Like, that is a grand statement to make with your villain, having them arrive by killing off another major villain. It is the action that cements Galvatron as more serious and no-nonsense compared to Megatron. It’s kind of a shame that doesn’t really happen that much in the next series after his brain gets damaged due to the ‘being submerged in plasma for a week’ thing.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

That in Series 3 they’d somehow managed to keep Leonard Nimoy doing the voice. I feel he would have been a really well remembered character if that had happened. Also just cos I imagine Nimoy’s performance (which is way more calm and thoughtful compared to Welkers kinda whiny petulant voice) would have led to Galvatron being characterised differently. Less berserk and crazy and probably a more experienced elder general.

(I’m annoyed cos I had most of this typed up and then I lost it. Gah!)

How I feel about this character

So, I haven’t seen Beast Wars II myself, I’ve just heard things about him. But he sounds like the fluffiest, nicest villain that ever existed. What a sweetie, I love him. I just love the idea of a villain who’s actually quite caring and worries about his men and literally the worst threat he can devise is he’ll fire you if you don’t do a good job!

Like, this is a Galvatron who managed to make Starscream loyal after he realised how nice Galvatron was, something none of the Megatron’s have ever achieved. What a guy.

10/10 I would actually work for him.

Hmm. I don’t know the list of ships for BW2. He doesn’t have a Cyclonus though. Give him a Cyclonus!

My non-romantic OTP for this character

Erm… once again it comes down to knowing less of the BW2 cast. I guess it’d b fun to actually see him with some G1 characters. I’d like to see him meet Optimus Prime. I feel the two would actually get on, maybe have a cup of tea. Discuss the war and a ceasefire in the span of an afternoon. It’d be amazing.

My unpopular opinion about this character

All Galvatrons should be like this. He’s honestly just the best characterisation and I can think of nothing better than Megatron undergoing this transformation and suddenly becoming a nice grandpa who’s not even really that evil when you get down to it.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

Just been discussing an idea with @galvatronsthighs​ where Webworld takes place during season 1 / 2 instead, and it’s entirely about Starscream trying to get Megatron committed to Torkulon hospital.

He slips five dollars under the table like: “Yes. He’s very unstable. How much do I have to pay to get him committed for life? Actually, let's cut out the middle-bot here. Just go straight to the lobotomy."

All this time Megatron is screaming in corner wrapped up in purple goo. "See look! He's clearly feral! Beyond help! Really I'm saving you money by suggesting the harshest treatments first!"

The plan backfires when they decide Starscream is clearly in need of treatment as well: "Clearly delusional. With bouts of egotism and paranoia." And manage to easily trick him into a cell by going "Please sit right here, this is where our best, most esteemed customers stay" "Finally!" [web closes in] "Oh."

Now they’re both locked up and scheduled for a lobotomy (because Torkulon is the worst). And so Megatron starts just ripping into Starscream “Oh brilliant plan! It worked so well! You must be so proud of yourself!” and the two of them end up kicking each other rather than devising a plan to escape.

But when one of the Torkulons is sent to check in on them they knock him out mid-scuffle and nick the control unit before fighting their way to freedom.

Finally work together, staging a dramatic escape and fly back home.
