❝ – Gladiolus looked upon the other man with a good mixture of both the anxious eyes of a friend and the annoyed gaze of a comrade, dark eyebrows knitting at Nyx’s words when the hero’s wounds remained plainly visible; a short laugh escaping past stubble brushed lips when the Glaive member tried reassuring him. 

“Hah- and I have wings.” The King’s Shield teased before stepping over to Ulric’s small kitchen to search for a medical kit of any sort or supplies that might suffice in the meantime; amber eyes glancing back at the other man periodically while he ransacked the cabinets for materials. 

“Don’t let that hero stuff get to your head to often- you might bleed out.”

But the better question remained prominently presented to Gladiolus as he stepped back over towards Nyx with supplies in hand, the tank setting all the material in his grasp down upon the couch side table before folding arms across a scarred chest casually while Ulric spoke his reasoning.

“Right, sorry.”

It was hard for Prompto to properly relax with Nyx this close to him. It was even harder when Nyx had his fingers pressed into the crook of his neck, assessing the rate and rhythm of his pulse. Knowing that Nyx could feel the pulsing of his blood only made his heart beat faster than it already had been - the exact opposite of what he was going for.

But Prompto couldn’t help it. Nyx made him nervous (in all the best ways, of course). For as long as they’d known each other, it was not uncommon for Prompto’s heart rate to sky rocket when the older man came around. 

Their proximity now, however, was much closer than usual. If he listened carefully, he could hear the sound of Nyx’ gentle breaths as well as feel them against his cheek.

He swallowed thickly and took a deep breath, trying to get his heart to calm itself.

“Heh, can’t seem to get it to slow down.”
