GAGE- “Daryl this is Donnie Winchester, our new roommate. Donnie, this is Daryl Pence and over at the coffee pot will be your actual bedroom partner, Tat Valliet”

DARYL- “Hey Donnie, do you actually go by that name, or do you go by Don?” 

DONNIE- “Don is my dad’s name, hence the reason I go by Donnie.”

DARYL- “Oh, okay.”

DONNIE- “Why? Is there something wrong with the name Donnie??”

DARYL- “Oh, no, not at all, it just sounds like a kids name.”

DONNIE- “Well I was a kid when they started calling me that and it stuck. Is there a reason you go by Daryl?”

DARYL- “Well, it is my name.”

DONNIE- “And Donnie is my name.”

GAGE- “Okay, then, now that we have that straightened out, Tat would you like to show Donnie your guys’ room?”

DONNIE- “I really do appreciate you guys accepting in here as your new roommate and I am sorry I got off on the wrong foot. But to be honest I feel like the odd man out. You know what I mean?”

TATSUO- “I get it. We all know one another and are friends, and you are the new guy. It is kind of awkward.”

DARYL- “And we are all three gay, it would be different I imagine.”

GAGE- “Excuse me I am bi-sexual, and I do currently have a girlfriend.”

DONNIE- “Listen I have no issues about any of you guys or your sexuality. My brother is gay. We are very close, and I support him 100%, as I do all of you. It was more of the fact that you three already have a connection and I was just trying to fit in. I guess I let my own insecurities get in the way”

GAGE- “Hey it is all good. We accept you too Donnie. That is why we chose you to live here with us. And if you ever decide you want to be curious, I am available!”

TATSUO- “GAGE!!  That doesn’t help!”

DONNIE- “You are nice Gage, and I am sure my brother would be all about you, but I truly am not into guys.”

GAGE- “Is your brother as hot as you are??”

TAT- “WTF is HE doing here?”

GAGE- “You must ignore his profanity; he doesn’t like surprises.”

DANIEL- “Tatsuo, I was in town and thought I’d check up on you.”

TAT- “Check up on me? Seriously? I have been here now two years, and you just now decided to check up on me? Sorry, not interested in your concern. I am fine.”

DANIEL- “Gage, could you excuse my son and I, we need to discuss some things.”

GAGE- “Sure. You need anything? A drink or a bite to eat?”

DANIEL- “No thank you, just some privacy.”

TAT- “I have nothing to talk to you about Dad. You told me to leave when I told you that I was gay. So I left. You have offered nothing in the way financially to help for school, not even a phone call. Mother has called, she has also told me she filed for divorce. So how about you just go.”

DANIEL- “Tatsuo, please, just a few minutes. I know now I was wrong, and I want to make it up to you.”

TAT- “Sorry, not in the mood for apologies. Just go, please!”

DARYL- Thanks for meeting me Gage, I have had this on my mind all day and it is really starting to bother me.”

GAGE- “What is it?”

DARYL- “This Donnie guy. He is being completely rude to me. First the whole conversation about his name, then I tried to make nice and asked him if he wanted to walk to class with me this morning, as we had the same class. He responded with, “I can find it myself” But then proceeded to take Tat’s offer and walk with him. Then made a comment about my coffee this morning. I just don’t get it, why does he dislike me?”

GAGE- “I don’t think he dislikes you, Daryl. He is just new to all this and don’t know how to act maybe?”

DARYL- “Well, he certainly is acting like an ass!”

GAGE- “Could you be a little jealous as he seems to like Tat a little better than you, or at least is being nice to him?”

DARYL- “Why would that bother me?”

GAGE- “I think we both know.”

DARYL- “Whatever! Want something to drink?”

GAGE- Yeah a Mocha would be nice.”

DARYL- “Not to change the subject, but did you see that man that came up in line behind me for the coffee?”

GAGE- “Yeah, you know him?”

MEANWHILE, BACK AT THE BOY’S HOUSE ...

DANIEL- “Hello, my name is Daniel Valliet, Tatsuo’s father, does he live here?”

GAGE- “Hello, sir, I am Gage, yes, Tat lives here, but he is at class right now, but should be home soon. Want to wait inside for him?”

DANIEL- “Sure, thank you Gage, that would be great.”

GAGE- “So looks like your summer vacation in Sulani was a sucsess.”

DARYL- “Yes, for all intents and purposes. I had a great time!”

GAGE- “And you and Tat? So are you guys …

TATSUO- “So, you going to answer him or should I, Daryl?

DARYL- “Well, I just wasn’t, ready.”

TATSUO- He just wants to be friends, Gage, he said it was too soon.”

GAGE- “Oh, sorry, so I guess you and I will be roommates then?”

DARYL- “You and I can room together, Gage, Tat said he will room with the new guy.”
