TAT- “WTF is HE doing here?”

GAGE- “You must ignore his profanity; he doesn’t like surprises.”

DANIEL- “Tatsuo, I was in town and thought I’d check up on you.”

TAT- “Check up on me? Seriously? I have been here now two years, and you just now decided to check up on me? Sorry, not interested in your concern. I am fine.”

DANIEL- “Gage, could you excuse my son and I, we need to discuss some things.”

GAGE- “Sure. You need anything? A drink or a bite to eat?”

DANIEL- “No thank you, just some privacy.”

TAT- “I have nothing to talk to you about Dad. You told me to leave when I told you that I was gay. So I left. You have offered nothing in the way financially to help for school, not even a phone call. Mother has called, she has also told me she filed for divorce. So how about you just go.”

DANIEL- “Tatsuo, please, just a few minutes. I know now I was wrong, and I want to make it up to you.”

TAT- “Sorry, not in the mood for apologies. Just go, please!”

DANIEL- “I have done a lot of damage, Tat, I am aware of that, with you, your sister, and yes with your mother and out marriage. It may be too late to salvage the marriage, but I was hoping to make some sort of amends with you kids.”

TAT- “A little late for that dad. Don’t you think?”

DANIEL- “It may be, yes. Your sister is in high school now, doing her own thing and you are here doing whatever it is you are doing.”

TAT- “I am working on being a lawyer dad. As soon as I get college out of the way, then my plan is law school.”

DANIEL- “And, what about, well you know your personal life? You still...”

TAT- “Yes, dad, I am still gay, that don’t go away. Please, this is not helping. You don’t understand, and you don’t want to. So, you really should just go.”

DANIEL- “I want to understand, Tatsuo, I really do. Regardless of anything else, you are my son. My flesh and blood. I want to help you. Make things easier for you. I have money set aside for your schooling, and I want you to have it. I want you to be the best you can be, and the best, I know you are. “

TATSUO- “Dad, I do appreciate that, and it would certainly help me, and allow me to focus on my school and not have to worry. But you can’t just throw money at us and think all of it is going to be roses. Like you said, a lot of damage has been done, on both sides. “

DANIEL- “I understand. I am going to be in town a few more days. I am staying at the Britechester Inn, maybe we can do dinner before I head back home. I will open an account in your name and give you all the access then. I know it’s not going to fix everything, but I owe you this, Tatsuo. I do love you son, now I need to work on loving unconditionally.”

TATSUO- “That would mean a lot. Dad.”

DANIEL- “Okay son, I will call you in a day or two. Okay?”

TATSUO- “Sure, Dad. And I do appreciate you wanting to change.”

DANIEL- “Thanks for giving me the chance to do that. Bye now.”

MEANWHILE, BACK AT THE BOY’S HOUSE ...

DANIEL- “Hello, my name is Daniel Valliet, Tatsuo’s father, does he live here?”

GAGE- “Hello, sir, I am Gage, yes, Tat lives here, but he is at class right now, but should be home soon. Want to wait inside for him?”

DANIEL- “Sure, thank you Gage, that would be great.”

TATSUO- “I am not sure why you constantly attack me, but I am over it. I reported where I was going to be and when i would be home. I can not help it that you and mother’s relationship does not allow you two to communicate, but that is not my problem. Ground me, it doesn’t matter. I don’t care. I am graduating with honors, I have NEVER been in trouble and I am home more than you are in any given week. You care nothing for me, or my sister, and probably the same goes towards mother. I will be gone soon enough for good. So, get out of my room, and in the future, you could at least have the courtesy to knock.”

DANIEL- “I am not sure who you think you are talking to Tatsuo, but I will not be disrespected in my own home---”

TATSUO- “Fine, I will leave then. I will be gone by the end of the week”

Of course Tat had no idea where he would go as, Dominic had already said they could not take him in, but he would find a way. His father left his room without saying another word, knowing he probably went to far, but he was not about to apologize.
