“Don’t laugh,” she said when he arrived at work.  He froze in the doorway, his eyebrows lifting as he bit down on his lip and tried not to…well, laugh.  She was standing by the counter, a garland of leaves strung across her outstretched arms.  It connected her to Sabine, who sat on Tom’s shoulders hanging the rest from the back wall.  “Luka, I can see you laughing.  Stop it.”

“I would never,” he said, and he meant it.  Besides, he wasn’t laughing – he was snickering.

“Luka, dear, you’re taller – do you think you could get up here and finish hanging these?” Sabine asked.  Marinette’s grin was wicked.

A few moments later, Marinette had draped the remaining garland over Luka’s shoulders, who had traded places with Sabine on Tom’s.

“How does it look?” he asked, adjusting the leaves.  Marinette tried to pat his back, but she wasn’t quite tall enough and he jumped when her hand hit…lower.  If she noticed, she was too busy smirking at him to show it.
