Any thoughts after the trailor dropped for Avatar: Seven Havens? 😭
I mean. the animation is. rough. and that red thing at the end looks suspiciously like Vaatu, and oh man do I not need any more of Raava and Vaatu :))))
but hey, I still wanna stay optimistic about it! 8D not sure why, cause whenever Bryke add world building to atla, they always end up destroying what they've built so far but yeah. I just can't help myself, I wanna like it!

If I may make a dabble request, DivAki of course. What if Aki visits Divine in prison (timeskip or not), and offer to heal his scar? Maybe the one nice deed he’ll ever have in his irredemable life? (But the twist, he doesn’t take that offer) 🤔
i decided to set this like immediately after ark cradle (though aki decidedly does NOT tell divine about it because can you imagine if she had to mention yusei to that man). i also posted it on ao3 because i am determined to become the majority of the divine tag lmao
“You came back.” Divine’s voice was raspy, narrowed eyes watching as Aki sat down at the seat across from him. Each time the guards alerted him to a visitor, he knew it had to be her, but he still couldn’t understand why she insisted on coming to see him. Her friends had no idea, she had admitted that much, claiming to them that she was studying alone.
“Of course I did,” She replied simply, leaning forward on her elbows to watch him closely, rolling her eyes as his own darted down to her cleavage for a brief moment. “We won that tournament, remember the one I mentioned about?”
He did remember. Most things the woman before him said were ingrained somewhere deep in his mind, partly because of a long-lingering soft spot for her, but mostly in case he ever did escape from these concrete walls. “Impressive.”
She leant back again, and he watched as she fiddled with the hem of her gloves; she always did this when she had something to say, something she was afraid would gain a negative response. At first, he wondered if this was something to do with Yusei, but what came out of her lips instead startled him.
“Have you ever seen a psychic with healing powers before?”
Divine’s brows furrowed, and he lifted a hand to his chin as he thought, scratching the stubble as if it would jog his memory quicker. “Yes. Once. Why?” Her silence, brown eyes focused on her own hands, answered his own question. Now that…. That was an interesting revelation. A woman who could heal and harm could be very useful.
Aki finally lifted her head, mentally tracing the scar along his face. It had marred what he considered to be perfection, and she surely knew how much he hated it. There was a reason his hair constantly covered it. “…I could try to remove that, if you wanted me to, Divine.”
A promise to bring him back to how things used to be. She even outstretched a hand, palm up waiting (or hoping, given the glimmer in her eyes). It reminded him of how things used to be, Divine offering his hand to pull her away from the darkness of the world around them. It was a promise of protection, a promise to take revenge on anyone who hurt her.
And yet, he had a feeling her promise was one of recovery. She claimed to be in a good place now, with friends and family and a place in a university starting in autumn. He hated it, the woman he had moulded from a young vulnerable girl was slipping through his fingers, with nothing he could feasibly do to stop it.
“You don’t need to do that.” An itch, a temptation to take her hand and tug, pull her back into him until they were intertwined again, unsure where Divine and his ideas ended and her own consciousness began. Instead, he allowed her to rise from her seat, eyes watery with a lingering sense of rejection.
He knew she would be back; she always would come back to him.
If you want a good laugh, I’m reviewing a plot point from YU-GI-OH ARC-V Tag Force Special that is “suppose” to be Aki’s closer with the Arcadia Movement! I did 2 parts so far!
I'm kinda scared tbh, the games don't exactly have the best track record for a balanced depiction of the Arcadia Movement.
Didn't Reverse of Arcadia straight up claim that all the members of the movement were just brainwashed by Divine? and no one actually really hated psychics? even all the kids who bullied Aki in school were actually well meaning and ready to befriend her at a moment's notice?
I’ve been thinking about your Timeskip DivAki (lol) and I do wonder, what WOULD happen if Divine and Aki reunited? Would he still want to control her/take her back? Would Aki even want to interact with him let alone take him in/back? I really make you wonder, especially with the 5D’s endgame for Dr. Aki. What do you think? 🤔
the Divine I envisioned crawling up to Aki's door hasn't recollected his followers, he hasn't rebuilt his movement. he just broke out of prison, is without means, at the end of his rope, barely managed to make his way over to... checks notes... Germany...??? and he's searched out Aki cause she is the only person left who he thinks he can trust.
that means for the first time, Aki compeltely has the upper hand in their dynamic, and I think Divine is painfully aware of that fact.
unfortunately, he might be physically incapable of asking for help. instead, he's a manipulative douche, so I think he would try to tap into that emotional dependency he knows is still lingering deep within Aki, no matter how mature and put together she is now. so he'd try and reduce her back to the young girl who fell all over herself just to please him, cause that's the only way he knows how to interact with people: make them dependent on you, then work with that.
and I can imagine a part of Aki might respond to that! even in the show we see that after everything Divine has done, Aki's unconditional love for him remains completely unchanged!
but I also think too much time has passed, Aki's come too far and grown too much to let that control her. so while I think Aki would take him in, Divine is going to have to grow accustomed to something entirely new: Aki setting boundaries.
and from there on it could go so many different ways! do they work out a new connection and grow closer again, this time at something approaching equal terms? does Aki's constructive and idealistic approach to the society's problems clash with Divine's revolutionary world view? does Divine influence Aki or does Aki manage to win over Divine? or do they break apart entirely?
the possibilities are endless! what I would love to happen in any case is for Aki to grow more accepting of her own psychic powers and what she considers her "dark side" through seeing the humanity in Divine. that's always been my favorite part of the ship!

Any thoughts of the new Z-A character? What do you think of Corbeau’s design?
I like the designs way more than the ones in Scarlet/Violet! Urbaine, Taunie, Emma, Mable, Naveen, Lida, lots of cute characters already!
Corbeau looks. fine? I guess? I don't really get the hype, and I don't think he looks similar to Kieran at all >> no idea what the fandom is on about there
To piggy back off that anon, I could see Divine breaking out of prison, gathering his remaining Psychics that are still loyal and return more like an extremist organization like The Equalists in The Legend of Korra 🤔 Divine already have Amon vibes!
the thing is, Amon is actually a perfect example for what I mentioned in that previous ask wrt stories dealing with systemic oppression. Amon also was completely correct about the marginalization of non-benders. but every time they bring up this issue, writers like Bryke pull the "alright but this guy was ~*~too extreme~*~ about it" card. and all the problems magically disappear as soon as the evil activists are dealt with. it's the defense of the status quo that a lot of people way smarter than me already have talked about especially when it comes to Marvel movies.
anyway yeah, all Divine needs to escape prison is someone slipping him a duel monsters card and we're back in business baby.
I don't knoooow on the one hand I'm hooked to that Pokemon IV on the other hand I just can't support the slop GF has been putting out recently. I only got myself Violet because of a yearly real life Pokemon event where I'm part of the staff, and even then I got it secondhand.
