after spending the first half of 2019 on a lowkey mode, PALETTE finally re-appeared on the scene with all they’ve got. the first row of teasers alone generated tons of buzz and anticipation, especially once it was revealed that PALETTE’s maknae, yeji, would be finally reincorporing to the group activities, after her ausence due to a leg injury from the past comebacks. for this era, the girls clearly aimed for the funky spectrum of their palette, blending quirky and fantastic elements with their usual aesthetic, brimming with vivid colors. fancy you! left its print on the industry as one of their most outlandish eras.

listen.... fancy you! was palette’s “it” era and that’s on that (was clowned as much as it was cheered but oh well)

fancy! charted greatly and scooped no fewer than ten music shows wins, making its their most awarded song to the date. fancy! become a public’s favorite in no time gjfh

dawon, ella and tohru had a hand on the album’s writing but they all agreed yeji wrote most of it by herself. that mf really got discharged and said time to get shit DONE

jules also participated on the producing and GUESS WHAT they were finally !!! credited !!!

it was a pleasant surprise to witness palette shifting from the elegant and mighty concept to go full-on with some funky groovy vibes !!!

the styling/aesthetic.... was very peculiar, to say the least

it was basically color vomit at it finest but make it cool ?? surprisingly it turned out very aesthetically pleasing to the eye

their makeup had this big sexy and glowy and blushy type of deal but sometimes they just. literally had drawings on theirs faces with their respective colors wuuu

built to be the most charming girl around, it should come as no wonder the fact most of her peers seem to be wrapped around her tiny fingers. she’s fluent into getting showered with love and praise after saying the exact things in the exact moment.

yeji’s also known for being favored by her seniors, especially women. they al seem to have nothing but positive comments to say about her. yeji has done a good job endearing the industry, and she thrives off of going on dates with her seniors, and being pampered by them.

yeji has been a huge fan of moonbyul ever since she can recall. she used to buy her merch and attend to her fansigns more often than not. it was like a dream come true that she got to link up with her after her debut.

among all of her unnies, moonbyul’s gotta be her favorite. she’d drop anything just to be by her side, and being able to spend time together feels like heaven to yeji. yeji is deeply in love with moonbyul... despite what others have to say about it.

contrary to most of her relationships, in where she’s endlessly spoiled and feels like floating, renjun tells her how it is and keeps her grounded. perhaps it’s because he’s seen all the shit she’s gone through, but he’s usually the one to say what she needs to hear rather than what she wants to hear.

everyone knows taeyeon is the main reason as to why yeji joined sm. taeyeon’s not only one of her biggest inspirations, but also her muse and her favorite unnie to hang out with.

taeyeon is also highly fond of her tiny protégée and makes sure to dote on her whenever she’s got the time to spare. they’ve such a heartwarming senior-junior relationship, in where taeyeon won’t stop referring to yeji as her own daughter.

to no one’s surprise, jules is the least sociable member out of PLTT. her apathetic, restless vibe keeps her social circle as scarce as it is, but it’s not like she does an effort to increase the numbers.

she prioritizes the quality of the company above the quantity. however, if you happen to be apart of her circle of friends, congrats! you probably mean the world to her, as much as she will deny it.

jules is not especially keen on the emotional weight that involves social interactions, but once she’s into it, there’s no way for her to stop caring about her friends.

honestly, it has become one of their biggest running jokes, about how jules would die for itzy’s yeji and straight up kill her own yeji. glows even make compilations abt jules’ duality with the yejis on yt.

no one can quite put the finger to it, but there’s just something about tohru— such an endearing feeling to her and her simplicity. she’s the type of person you would probably follow to the very end even if she didn’t ask you for it.

her genuine charms and maturity are her best qualities to be listed, and because of it, she tends to get along with older people rather than the ones of her age.

however, and admittedly, she also seems to have a knack for attracting eccentric, troublesome personalities, who she just can’t bring herself to leave alone.

ever since trainee days, tohru has always been closest to mark. it’s like he’s always been there by default. she considers him to be one of her closest friends (if not the closest).

while a little awkward here and there, you can tell their friendship is genuine and both treasure it dearly. since both of them always lacked in the friends departament, especially in regards to the opposite gender, they’re grateful to have someone who they can count in no matter what.

even if she’s not the most vocal about it, tohru herself gets surprised at times by how much she cares about mark. she’s blatanly unaware of how much he means to her.

𝙖𝙞𝙢 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙥. | yeji is ambitious, and quite a lot. everyone who knows her knows that much. even since she was young, she’s only aimed for the first place in everything she tried. if she isn’t the best, then there’s no point. as simply as that. because of this, she works harder than everyone and often endures vigorous practices after her normal routines with the group. she spends more time than the average searching methods for improvement and perfectioning her abilities because to her, it feels like a waste of time to do nothing. she’ll start to pursue her goals once she has them setted, and there’s no stopping to her. she’s a bit of a workaholic, to say the least, and she really should learn where to drawn the line

𝙞𝙩’𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙞𝙜 𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙡... | having been raised under less afluent circumstances than most of the people, tohru displays more practical and responsible qualities, hence why is very unlikely of her to let things get to her head. she's fairly aware of her limits, and despises bragging or showing off. she prefers to keep a low-profile more than anything else, but she’s certainly capable of taking a compliment!

𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙥 𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙝. | as previously mentioned, tohru is as assertive as it appears. she doesn’t sugar-coat her words when voicing her opinions, and tends to confront people with whom she has issues openly. you could call it being confrontational, but it’s because she prefers to communicate properly and working things out before it escalates into a greater issue

𝙖 𝙬𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩. | if there’s something that defines tohru, is how down to the earth she is. tohru not only grew up as an only child, but also didn’t live in a very economic stable household, which taught her to be independent from a very young age. you can often spot her acting as the voice of reason among her problematic members, or assessing a situation maturely when no one does. even older members refer to her as the most mature out of palette, as she usually agrees more with them than the younger ones. she’s basically an old soul

𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙞𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙚! | with this, tohru is also dilligent, firmly believing there’s no shortcut to succes other than hard-work. she takes her duties with utmost earnest and refuses to shirk work under any circusmtances, thus making her a reliable partner to count with. if you need someone efficient to get the work done, she’s totally your man!

as a child, tohru was enrolled into acting lessons and was very invested into it but she couldn’t pursue an actual acting career until late 2018.

because of her atypical features tohru used to get backlash upon debut but she has never appeared to care.
