So I've been playing Breath of the Wild for a solid month or so now and despite the fact that I've taken on none of the Divine Beasts and keep pacing around Rito Village and the path leading TO Zora's Domain, I think I've come a long, long way since my first two gaming sessions.
I'm no longer afraid to be out in the wild after dark.
I hunt stalkoblins for sport.
I use the Great Plateau bokoblins for parrying and dodging practice (and I use no weapons due to accidentally killing them)
My arrow aim has improved considerably.
The thunderstorms no longer trigger my PTSD.
I also hunt Octoroks for sport (used to just run from them in terror).
I like antagonizing the lizalfos just to warp somewhere else before they jump on me.
Most of the time I will fight a Stone Talus (have killed at least 3)
Use bombs for just about everything...
no seriously I go to Satori Mountain and just start chucking the bombs at the trees to get apples and durian.
my fave method for fishing
and apparently the palm trees can blow up so Link has been a menace in Lurelin at 0200 hours...
my other favorite game on Satori Mountain is whistling for Revali (the horse) just to piss off and confuse the Stalnox.
Oh yeah, I'm having fun despite also not being very accomplished. BUT I mean I have upgraded my stealth armor twice by the fairies and almost have my snowquill armor upgraded twice. I also think it's great the amount of restraint I have for NOT pushing Juney or whatever off the goddamn platform in Rito Village for the amount of times she called the place, "Booooooooriiiiiiiiing." Bitch I will throw you off this platform!!!
I also have a Rito boyfriend. His name is Fyson and we're going to run off to Tarrey Town together and sell arrows.
you know what I'm going to ask!!! FYLINK!!!! :D :D :D
Hehe of course!
IM SO READY TO INFODUMP ABOUT THIS ONE
So the premise is that Revali and Link were a thing before the Calamity, maybe just like a flirtationship/beginning stages kind of thing(?). Then he wakes up in the future without memory of it and...
When Link first met Fyson, he felt an odd twinge of familiarity. Enough that he would have thought he was the Rito champion he was there to meet, and not Teba. Though Teba made much more sense. Skilled, extremely so. The First Warrior. Fyson, well. Link wasn’t sure what Fyson did besides lie around on the boardwalk. At least that was what he did when Medoh was monopolizing the sky, so maybe it wasn't fair to judge.
They get to know each other because Fyson has no one else in the village his age, Link helps get him to Tarrey Town, and they get up to boyish shenanigans like Link and Revali used to. Over time they get closer but things are also complicated by Link regaining his memories, which causes tension for them since Fyson feels like he is living in Revali's shadow.
It's still in the idea phase, especially because I'm not sure there'd be much interest. When I last checked there were NO Fylink fics on AO3 (which doesn't make sense to me).
Thank you so much for your ask my dear <3 <3
Want to ask me a question about my WiPs? See the Ask Game post HERE Or feel free to ask whatever else I dont mind :)
Also, I wanted to share two pieces I wanted to share of Fyson and Kapson for a banner for Zelda Creators Discord Banner.
✿ TARREY TOWN ✿
I love that quest so much, it’s probably my favorite one in any Zelda game

Fyson, the merchant & fletcher .||
Here we go again! Back at it! Maybe this should be my October challenge? Maybe? Either way to everyone who is participating; hope you are all resting! Fyson's story in BoTW is that of a young rito who aspires to do more than just help his mother running the store. His dream is to settle his own store and sells merchandise he is interested in. With help of Link, he manages to settle in the humbling town of Tarrey Town. What surprised a bit in BoTW was his stock of ancient parts that clearly belonged to guardians. I like to think he might have found a few ancient arrows but kept them for himself.
So I finally started breath of the wild
More NPC reactions to Link’s lack of clothing... 1 2 3 4 5
Incidentally, since Fyson says either of these two things, you cannot recruit him for Tarrey Town unless Link is wearing a shirt.
