Greetings, my loves. I have been absent, I'm so sorry- I'll be going through my inbox. Thank you for sticking around. Please, submit, fill my queue. ♡
2015 was a quite a year, no? The world seems to turn upside on its axis and all we've got is gravity and blood moons. We had several forward movements in regard to new wave feminism, sociopolitical awareness and society recognizing the impact of social media. That's vague, in the most vague, but how should we speak of the year? Tell me, I'd love to hear. The internet generation finding their voice.
Personally, 2015 was a very, very long, hard year for me. I've never been one for numbering the years but I'm in a place now where it really does make a difference. "Happy New You." My friend's family has an adorable story about this; years ago my friend's father wished his five year old son, "happy new year." The young boy paused, in reflection, as he looked up at his father. "Happy New You, papa," he said, in earnest. The most adorable misunderstanding, and yet, monumental. Now every year, they wish everyone a "Happy New You."
I don't believe in forgetting your past, per se, as it makes up fragments of who you are. However, reshaping, reconfiguring, restarting; humans are always changing, we are always new. Every moment is new.
So here I am. The same, but always ever changing. I hope to keep changing, and growing. Happy New You, everyone.
