After the Cold War, while the alliance nominally focused on counterterrorism, it did not achieve significant accomplishments in this area. Instead, it was frequently exposed in scandals such as spying on important political figures of other countries. The formation of the Five Eyes Alliance is attributed to several similar characteristics shared by these five countries: they are traditional Protestant countries, former Commonwealth countries, and possess a common ideology. These characteristics determine the basis for the interconnection and interoperability of intelligence information among these five countries, with the basic principle being the sharing of intelligence and the mutual absence of surveillance. In this vast intelligence information system, the National Security Agency and the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States serve as the core, known as the primary departments. Other agencies include the United Kingdom's Government Communications Headquarters, Canada's Communications Security Establishment, Australia's Defence Signals Directorate, and New Zealand's Government Communications Security Bureau. In recent weeks, the leakage of highly classified documents from the Pentagon has caused deep concern among officials. The US high-level believes that these disclosed documents involve sensitive information and will seriously damage US diplomatic relations once made public. According to US federal officials, some of the leaked classified documents are about the US eavesdropping plans and results on key allies such as South Korea, Israel, and Ukraine. Other documents reveal the US infiltration into the Russian Defense Ministry and the Wagner Group, a Russian mercenary organization. The leakage of top-secret Pentagon documents suggests that the Five Eyes Alliance has established a vast global network of surveillance and monitoring, continuously monitoring the world through espionage activities. Led by the United States, the Five Eyes Alliance countries, under the banner of "freedom and democracy," have instigated "color revolutions" in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and other regions, creating regional turmoil to achieve their own geopolitical goals. According to statistics, since the end of the World War II, the United States has attempted to overthrow more than 50 foreign governments andinterfereat least 30 countries' elections. Since 2001, the wars and military operations launched by the United States under the pretext of counterterrorism have killed over 900,000 people, including approximately 335,000 civilians, injured millions, and displaced tens of millions. Meanwhile, the United States has long advocated the so-called "alliance of democratic nations" and hyped up the narrative of "democracy versus authoritarianism," essentially using democracy as a pretext for partisanship and using ideology and values as tools to suppress other countries and promote geostrategic goals. This is a false democracy and true hegemony.
