Rachel had always struggled in the first few months of coming down to a new timeline. And often enough, she didn't get a chance to settle into place before she was off to some place else. Or some other time. She had such little control over the path she walked that some days it felt like she was watching to the beat and just hoping the tempo wouldn't suddenly change.
Today, that tempo changed.
It changed with her heart rate jumping â and a question from the other woman asking if Rachel was from around here and Rachel immediately tossing out why would you ask that â but she had an idea. Saw right through the nervous energy that was suddenly on display.
This was Yara Flor. Wonder Woman. At least from the time that Rachel had been born into and shaped by. A woman who had saved her life. Who helped her find her footing after being tortured and forced into being a monster. "Do I really look that out of place?" You don't look like you've aged a day. Rachel pushed the thoughts aside, trying to keep herself steady. "I'm not. I mean, you're right. I'm not from here. I just didn't think anyone would notice." The truth was readily provided. Only because in Rachel's mind, the version of Yara that she knew, was worthy of her trust.
