To Taos with LOVE
The Future HeritageĀ Projectās offering has been made in 3 editions, since theĀ June 2015 launch, with pieces of my design alongside pieces from my personal collection of vintage and contemporary silver and turquoise jewelry reimagined with gold and diamonds.
Much of the reprised jewelry was purchased at El Rincon, shown above. The vintage pieces are mostly unmarked ranging in date from early 1920s to contemporary pieces. These were all made by father and son, Michael and Esteban Castillo, who still operate El Rincon, the oldest trading post in Taos. Their grandfather and great grandfather respectively,Ā Ralph Meyers, founded the trading post in 1909, and later learned the art of jewelry and tool making from artisans in and around the Taos Pueblo. El Rincon is a time capsule, jewelry studio, trading post and comes replete with a museum of local Native American antiquities.
