For months now Luca will suddenly announce that, “Frogs have teeth.” He says it very matter-of-factly as if he were telling us the sky is blue. And every time we would explain that, “no, frogs don’t have teeth. You must be thinking of lizards. Frogs are different.” Once he even told me that frogs have teeth, but they’re just too small to see. Tonight when he brought it up, Eva finally went to settle this once and for all by asking Alexa. To our surprise, Alexa informed us all that frogs do indeed have teeth. Eva asked if all frogs have teeth, and Alexa went on to explain that most frogs have teeth or tooth-like structures, usually too small and to hold anything but the weakest prey. Some frogs even have fangs, it turns out. So, there you go. It only took 4 years for Luca to become smarter than us. We immediately gave him credit where credit was due. We commended him for not giving up when he knew what was right and apologized for not looking it up sooner. But the most shocking thing of all to me was that it turned out Alexa actually knew something useful for once. #wolfgangjalapeño #smarterthanhisparents #smartypants #futurebiologist #herpatology #futureherpatologist #knoitall #frog #frogs #frogshaveteeth #alexa #alexaforthewin (at Briarwood, Queens) https://www.instagram.com/p/B8AYqzoh0js/?igshid=1lvxvus4cg6am
