. Together, We Rise :: Color Study . #barbonslope . After a long pause, Women’s Week came BACK to @baldfacelodge! I love this trip, for so many reasons... I grew up the only girl in a household of boys, and often found myself trying to prove I could be just as strong and resilient. I competed in rail jams as the only girl without a category, where the judges truly didn’t know what to do with me. I’ve been asked when I’m going to stop my pursuits and start a family, if i’m scared to be alone in the outdoors, and have overheard men scoff when they see their tail guide for the week (yours truly) is a woman... as if being a woman automatically made me less than. . I’m so grateful to have gotten this week with a full lodge of women where it was way more a celebration of what it means to be a strong woman (in all its variations) simply because, not in spite. And what a trip it was - views, woos, and a full reset to boot! . It’s such a pleasure to share the slopes with a cat full of women I admire. Thank you for the bootpacks, the stories, the laughs, the grooves, and the great spring session.
