So...this is technically a continuation of the AU, but not what I originally planned to do. Inspiration forced my hand here uwu (don't mind the roughness, im trying out new ways to draw the hedgies)
So here's my take on Future!Shadow! I always liked the idea of Shadow somehow losing his doom powers and looking closer to Terios, his beta design, so that's where the main design changes come from, along with other ideas i had here and there.
As for lore, Shadow changed his name to Terios following the deaths of everyone, being cursed with immortality, he had to watch as everyone he knew slowly withered away and passed from old age. Wanting a fresh start, he completely changed his identity, letting "Shadow" rest alongside his friends and family, whilst still upholding Maria's promise. The passage of time took a number on him, though, barely remembering anything from that past, his scarf one of the last mementos he has of those times. Although he has noticed some curiosities about the world and its inhabitants, such as a speedy young blue jack rabbit, who strongly reminds him of another blue pest that used to annoy him.
He acted as Silver's mentor and the closest thing to a parental figure after his parents passed away when he was still young, and the two travel the world trying to keep it safe, and making sure Silver is able to control his powers along the way.

Finally finished the timeline I was making for my Shadow design (With maria for scale). Playing SxSGens really got me in a sonic mood... XD Not to mention it helped that the other things I'd been hyperfixating on recently already had their fic resevoir drained by me.... ^^;; Aaaaaannyway heres more detailed things of them seperate- under the cut, cause I don't want to take over a whole dash.
I know the '06 timeline got erased but it would have been really funny to see a Silver/Dadow interaction when Silver got back to the future from that whole incident:
Shadow: Hey kid so how was the past? Did you save everything?
Silver: *glares*
Shadow: ... What?
Silver: YOU KICKED ME IN THE HEAD
Shadow: Oh yeah hehe I was hoping you would forget about that
Silver: FORGET ABOUT IT? YOU KICKED ME IN THE HEAD!!!!
Shadow: Okay to be fair I didn't know who you were and also you were trying to commit murder so....
Future Chaos
Sonic: "After all these years... Who would've guessed you'd need my help?"
~In the future, when everyone's already gone, and Shadow's one of the last one's left... he finds it difficult to keep pushing forward, even when a new threat arises.
And yet, he's not alone.~
[An idea that was inspired by someone else's post. Something about Shadow giving up, and Sonic's voice/ghost tells Shadow he's more stubborn than that.
It literally gave me this idea for a Future AU. I already have a few ideas for it. :3 So, whoever posted that, THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION! (Sorry I don't remember who you are.. :^)]
