It’s been sitting on my bookshelf for a while now, I think a little more than 6 months, and even buying it required a incredible will: it moves you from that ‘yeah I’ll eventually read it’ to the real deal. You ARE going to actually read it.

I heard form everyone that you’ll never going to manage and read it the first time you try and of course it was also true for me: I tried to start it in 2019 but it just didn’t feel right. 

Plus, it scared me. 

A little disclaimer. English is not my native language but I think I am pretty good (consider that I lived in UK for a bit and am currently studying translation so I am not completely lost), so much so that I decided to buy the English version of the book. And the first time I tried to read it, it scared me that I was so slow and needed to stop every couple pages and everything. But I don’t want to read it in Italian, because I already know I am going to lose a lot and I really wanted to challenge myself. But now I am so torn. I don’t know if I should stick to my original plan and read it in original or if I should consider myself defeated. 

So here is my question:

People that read it (English or non English), what do you think about all this? Do you think that, given enough time, I can make it? Should I try again and again or should I give up and just go buy the translated version?
