New Project
Hello (again) (part 2)!
As I said in my last post, I have a new project with @haveacupcakeluv that we’re starting on! We’ve both wanted to get into the cosplay area (especially making our own) for a long time, and this is our first attempt to break into that space. We’ve both gotten hooked on Fallout 4 recently, so what better game to start with than that to cosplay from? It’s got a really cool aesthetic that we love, lots of the clothing can be found at goodwill if necessary, and makes us just generally feel badass. We’ve decided that I’ll do the modeling and any wiring/electronics if necessary, and she will do the finishing and making it look actually good and not like a ton of plastic.
Our first project (possibly sub-project depending on if we expand from it) is making the “Righteous Authority”, the laser rifle that Paladin Danse gives you.
So far, I’ve modeled the fusion cell to use as ammunition. I know, it’s small, but it’s a start. Much of this gun will be 3D printed and then finished for appearance, and the fusion cell is no exception. We ran a print to test with at my school’s makerspace: it was pretty successful except the lower half had a print failure and is being reprinted as I type (printer bed became unlevel as it went).
Our current plan is to spray paint as necessary, add details, and then rough it up a bit to make it look aged.
I’m currently working on expanding from the cell outwards, adding the back block of the gun, and then I’ll see which part I work on from there.
Look out for more updates, and if you’ve read this far, feel free to leave feedback!
