WR: So, this is coming a fair few months later than it really should have - but, between welcoming some new faces to the library, keeping tabs on a couple sessions Iād best keep an eye on, spending time with a few people, and so on, the few opportunities Iāve had to think about this have been...Poorly spent, to say the least.
WR: And, what Iām talking about of course is the subject of Fused Aspects. I had mentioned a while back that I was working on a few postulates with which to further study and understand the concept, so...I guess, here they are.
WR: One; Fused Aspects can only be a combination of two separate Aspects - an Aspect cannot be combined with itself, for obvious reasons. Two; Fused Aspects are distinct from regular Aspects in that their names are, at the very least, disyllabic, or composed of two or more syllables.
WR: ......Thatās about it, honestly. Iāve tried to reason, fathom, and guess as to what all else Fused Aspects may entail, and Iāve gotten...Nowhere. So, for the time being, those are the two Fused Aspect postulates.
WR: I can only really wonder how Fused Aspects would work - do they combine natures of the two Aspects into a whole other concept, or do some Aspects accentuate the natures of others?
WR: Would there be any difference in how Passive Aspects mix with themselves to how they would mix with Active ones - and vice versa.
WR: And, beyond that - what sort of Aspects would these combinations produce? Iāve jotted down a few tentative names for possible Void-Fused Aspects - Twilight, Umbrage, and Shadow - but, by and large, the concept remains a mystery to me.
WR: Weāre still definitely working to try and get such a fusion to occur. I imagine that Light players might be able to actually trigger something to fuse Aspects, but we still have yet to test it.
WR: Iād love to hear other peopleās thoughts on the subject. Someone somewhere out there has to have something of a guess as to how all this works, so - if anyone would like to theorize with me, donāt hesitate to send a message our way.

WR: So, just to preface, thereās going to be some stuff discussed here thatās probably more new in concept than Fused Aspects to a few people, so, bear in that in mind if some of what I say sounds really frigginā weird.
WR: So, here in the Apocrypha, Aegis and I offer services of the creation of Soul Weapons - aptly named, armaments or trinkets suffused with a portion of the personās soul, which have properties unique and exclusive to the wielder, while being effectively inert in the hands of anyone else.
WR: These are pretty taxing to create, both for myself and Aegis, as well as for the recipient. Weāre only just able to pull it off thanks to our unique talents as a Seer of Void and Witch of Heart, though after the whole process is over and the recipient gets their fair share of rest, the resulting weapons prove to be exceedingly powerful artifacts.
WR: And, hereās where the Fused Aspect comes in; through the merging of Heart and Void, weāve discovered a new Aspect - Shadow - and refined our soul-forging process at the same time.
WR: Shadow is, in essence, the combination of Void and Heart. The true potential of the Soul, and the hidden image of oneās true self. Hence naming it after the Jungian psychological archetype.
WR: In merging our knowledge of Void and Heart, we were able to more efficiently create Soul Weapons - which, we callĀ āTrue Soul Weaponsā - that both perfectly mirror the wielder and require much less personal investment or recuperation.
WR: We do this through removing the personās soul from their physical body, and peering into it, finding the resonant aspects of the person and using those to inform the design and nature of their True Soul Weapon. When finished, we create an invisibleĀ ātetherā to the weapon, and return the soul to their body.
WR: They are the products of discerning the potential of a given soul, and imbuing the weapon with their shadow. As such, the resulting weapons are so intrinsically tied to their wielder that their use is effortless, and their powers devastatingly pronounced.
WR: However, this is just how we have come to use the Aspect of Shadow - there are doubtless other ways to simultaneously interpret Void and Heart, and many, many more ways to employ those interpretations.
WR: Hopefully, this gets some people to think about the applications for the Aspect and what other Fused Aspects could be made. And, if anyone wishes to drop their thoughts about what Iāve learned of Shadow, do feel free to.
WR: Hey everyone. So, as some might know, Iāve been growing curious about the possibility of Fused Aspects. Itās been somewhat difficult to try and set aside time for said research, due to having to keep tabs on a number of sessions of interest, amongst other things, but, after working with a couple people and getting some work put into it, weāve made a breakthrough.
WR: Weāve developed a few ways to actually create Fused Aspects, and now we can tap into a wholeĀ ānother realm of potential with enough study.
WR: With that said, Iām going to be absent-mindedly jotting down my notes on the Fused Aspects that happen to be immediately available for study, or those that we happen to uncover.
WR: How we use these Aspects will definitely vary greatly between people, given the way each player can form an interpretation of their Aspect, but, in all cases, weāll find some way to use them and have at least /something/ to say about them.
WR: So, as ever, keep your eyes out for any new notes or updates, and if you happen to find a new combination for us to try and study, donāt hesitate to bring it to our attention.
WR: Well, the Fused Aspect research is coming along...As well as it really can, anyway. Iām mostly just forming postulates and trying to develop them to get a realistic sense of how Fused Aspects /would/ work.
WR: Of course, as is usual, thereās no real guarantee that Iāll be right about it, but, fuck it. Itās better to have something to go by and see how wrong I was than stumble into it and not have anything to compare by.
WR: While I do my theoretical work, of course, Rose and I are trying to figure out if itās even possible for it to happen. Weāve yet to see any people with Fused Aspects show up, so, trying to find cases of it would prove...Difficult, to say the least.
WR: (maybe thereās some class and aspect combination out there that can fuse aspects? hm...)
WR: ...Ah, right, other part of the question. No, I donāt think that Fused Classes could be a thing. While we do have a rough idea of what Classes can do for the most part - in the form of defined abilities - itās actually more likely that Classes have a breadth of powers not really touched on by present definitions.
WR: And, with so many actual possibilities, Iād imagine that Classes, even with their unique, defined natures, couldnāt be fused to make another Class. Or, at the very least, if they could, itād be more akin to the concept of multiclassing than actually fusing.
WR: So, instead of the natures of two Classes combining and their powers merging, itād be more like a player having access to abilities from both Classes, potentially with one as theirĀ āprimaryā where their personal traits develop from.
WR: Iāll keep trying to iron out the postulates and post them when Iām satisfied. I hope to not leave anyone waiting for it, but, these are quite annoying to try to come up with due to the strictly theoretical nature of it all.
TT: These are certainly interesting. Sadly for Regent, not quite the wealth of knowledge he was hoping for, but nevertheless, he seems transfixed on these elaborate symbols.
WR: ......
