I’d fed my mice and then rats a kaytee food mix before switching to making my own seed mix, supplementing kaytee rodent blocks. Out of 6 mice, two of my eldest died from tumor complications and the third had a stroke and had to be put down.

Now with my two rats, I’d learned about how Kaytee small pet food is directly connected to:

•tumors

•sudden death

•strokes

•seizures

•food poisoning

+ more.

The corn isn’t preserved right, making it full of dangerous mold on the inside. The rodent blocks are bad quality, and they use things rats and mice can’t eat, like peanuts and raisins.

Please don’t make my mistake and please use safe brands. Kaytee does irreversible damage. I switched immediately after I heard but my rat’s tumor still grew in after the switch.

Rats are best on oxbow rodent blocks, and young rats (six months and younger) on mazuri rat blocks (due to extra protein)

This isn’t just rodents. ALL animals they make food for are at risk.

PLEASE do your research fully on everything you get them. one hole in it can lead to death, as sadly the small pet industry is completely money based, instead of caring about animal welfare.
