Today’s rarepair is Furina x Nilou, or Furilou!

But okay!! So Furina is super traumatised with the Fontaine situation and people are still mad at her cos they don't know the details so it's just very harmful for her to stay. She's just shutting herself inside but Neuvillette notices and wants what's best for her so he suggests she goes to Sumeru cos it's really chill and warm and it's close if she needs anything

The people in Sumeru don't really know her - she seems familiar from copies of the steambird but when she says she's just a famous Fontaine actress they believe her. Furina is on acting hiatus, she says, but she's still drawn to the theatre and eventually takes the plunge to go watch a performance. Lo and behold Nilou is the main dancer.

So Furina is enthralled but she also has never had the freedom to even think about her sexuality, even friendships were off the table before. But now she can think about it and uh oh

Nilou, for her part, is so excited to have a non-Sumeru person in the audience and invites Furina back stage. They get to talking and Nilou realises Furina has a LOT of experience in the performing arts (singing acting AND dancing?? Triple threat???) she asks how long Furina will be in town for and if she wants to audition for their next performance.

So Furina intends to say no but automatically she says yes so she can hang out with Nilou more. And Nilou is so kind and just a little bit silly that they really get along and it's so easy? Furina doesn't have to hide parts of herself or sand down the edges of her personality? Nilou loves having this person who understands her and her interests and treats dancing like an art and a skill.

I AM WRITING ANOTHER !!!

It's gonna be another longfic with a really similar structure to A Dance Like the Tide but different enough that I don't wanna call it a rewrite. I loved ADLTT but writing it was soooo hard and I'm no longer happy with it. So this one is going to have much more time taken and effort put into it!!

AND I have a betareader!! the platonic nilou to my furina, the coolest freak under the sea, the amazing, the wonderful @decimals-built-different !!!!!
