Fakemink’s mystique is odd in that it is crafted through brevity and not absence but constance. At time of writing Vincenzo Camille has mostly put out singles and brief EPs, each with songs that rarely venture much beyond a minute or two – but he’s released dozens and dozens of those over just a few years. It’s a curious hype machine and an effective one, but it surely cannot last forever. Surely, surely a more definitive post-witch-house rap statement is on the way.
