#furby modification

Here are some drafts of the ✨VISION✨

I bought a coral Furby straight from Macy's and stripped her down

Finally settled on the final ✨Vision✨ and got to work.

There she is, in her naked glory. Tried several different ways to dye the fur (hot dye almost burned the fur, fabric markers got it dark but never truly stuck, and sharpie got it dark but.... It transfers if you rub it too hard)

In the end I had to just be okay with the transfer.

Took the eyes off with fine grain sand paper and a hint (and I mean a DROP) of acetone. Too much acetone makes the plastic feel chunky and weirdly textured. I used metallic marker, black sharpie (nor like a fabric marker because all my black sharpies decided to hide when I needed it), and white/red acrylic pens. I recommend using acrylic pens as they are more vivid and give cleaner lines than acrylic paint on paint brush.

I didn't seal the eyes because I am lazy and impatient and wanted this done quickly I felt it was strong enough to be on its own as long as no one touched them.

And there she is! Miss Dawn Oilspill! I have yet to hot glue the skin back on which is why she's semi finished. But she works great (meaning I didn't damage anything while man-handling her trying to sand the eyes lol) and even though the fur color transfers, she's not going to my kids so it should be fine lmao.
