Trooping funnels (Infundibulicybe geotropa)
These lovely fungi are substantial and delicious, and often found in large numbers, making them an excellent one to look out for in autumn and well into winter.
We found these while out walking with a couple of friends who wanted to get into mushroom hunting, and they were very pleased with the find, including the find of the 'baby' funnels at the base of the larger ones!
Care should be taken to distinguish these fungi from the livid pinkgill (Entoloma sinuatum), a quite severely poisonous (though rarely deadly) mushroom. Luckily, along with some other distinguishing features, trooping funnels have a white spore print, while the livid pinkgill's is, predictably, pink, meaning they can easily be ruled out with certainty.
I made these into a creamy tarragon pasta sauce, delicious.
hi i dont know anything about gundam and i tried google but it didnt help, are you able to please tell me what funnels and bits are and why people are annoyed about them? saw a thing and was curious.
ABSOLUTELY HAPPY TO!!!
so in gundam, funnels and bits are the names for small, beam emitting, attack objects that, depending on the mobile suit, are either controlled through a psychic link if you're a newtype, or controlled with help of artificial implants and surgeries and conditioning to be a Cyber-Newtype.
A newtype is someone who, by not being weighed down by earths gravity, have developed an almost telepathic ability to sense others and in some cases, communicate with them.
While it's natural in some, multiple entities have tried to create their own, JUST because it gives an overall advantage in battle, but CN's can be killed with over using the associated abilities.
The main reason people love or hate them is because they're both amazingly cool, can do funky stuff like shield you from attacks, anddddddddd also instantly surround your regular infantry units and tear them to shreds, making the battle completely one sided.
Thus people like the TITANS in Zeta Gundam would try to push the limits and often end up killing their cyber newtype subjects.
Its fucked!
💯me when I was still storm chasing

Some small OC Mecha sketches from a while back.
Ok but Left with actual people sized Funnels, Nu Gundam flavor.
Reginald: Gentlemen, behold!
Right and Galeforce just watch Left slowly walk out with very large objects on his back.
Right: Dear, what in the hell are those?
Galeforce: They look far too heavy for Left's backside.
Reginald: These are remote laser firing systems that Left can easily maneuver with his cybernetics!
Left is just slowly leaning forward from the weight as everyone is still talking.
Right: Couldn't you have made them smaller? Way smaller.
Galeforce: Remember that Left is barely five foot tall and even with being a cyborg, the practicality of these weapons are laughable.
Reginald: The size is needed with how powerful the lasers are. And besides, it makes a great shadow silhouette for that extra touch of destroying your enemies.
Left: Boss, I'm going down.
Left then fall flat on his face, a silence filling the room as Left eventually just gives a thumbs up.
Galeforce: I am going to have to give my stamp of unapproved weaponry here.
Right: I love you Reg, but yeah this is no from me as well.
