Hey y'all! I've got good news and bad news.

Good News: My birthday is coming up soon! (Feb 3rd)

Most people use it as transgender for transgender now but it does originally come from the craigslist personal categories where all the personal categories were in the X4X format (where X=M, W, or T, though T was an unofficial tag for years.) The letter T on Craigslist was nearly universally assumed to be a shorthand for MTF Transsexual, Transvestite, Transgender, and/or Cross Dresser (TS/TG/TV/CD, which were often used as basically interchangeable competing terms by many ads). It was created as more of a fetish category than anything and if I had to create a generic Craigslist T4T post it would be titled something like: "Sissy CD seeks other CD for femme dress up time" followed distantly by "Tgirl seeks other Tgirl."

It did surprise me quite a bit when I started seeing it used outside of that context, to be honest. Especially since I started seeing it being used more neutrally after Craigslist nuked their personals section.

Just to show an example of a T4T page on Craigslist, this is the last list of postings I can see on Archive.org of the San Francisco Bay Area Craigslist Casual Encounters > T4T section that was captured. Craigslist started in the SF bay area and personals were wiped were wiped in early 2018. Casual encounters were the hook up section. There was a more "ordinary" romance personal ads section implied to be for cis people only. There was also a T4T category under "misc romance" but from what I've seen misc romance was barely used by anybody and often ended up just being an extension of casual encounters anyway. Notice there's a FTM for FTM posting here so trans masc people were represented sometimes, but there's an equal number of postings offering Tracer Overwatch cosplay blowjobs in this instance.
