Relief-carved porcelain, celadon glazed, and reduction fired. Carve time was ~4-4.5 hours 🙃

I used the matching bowl as a test tile to see if I liked any oxide wash options (to highlight the carved lines).

So it looks kind of weird, but gives me a lot of information. (L to R: copper oxide wash, black oxide wash, rutile oxide wash) I think it’d be cool to carve one of those carnivorous plants and use the copper oxide wash on it bc the reds and greens are so gnarly!

I think I prefer the carvings without the oxide wash. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Anyway, thanks for following along my carving adventures.

I’m going to see how many carved mugs I can make this summer to build up some inventory. Maybe do one drop in the fall? They’re so labor intensive though, I’m not sure anyone would want to pay how much I’d need to charge 🤦🏻‍♀️
